The Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) directed film ANNIVERSARY (GEI LIM YUT) two nights ago promoted. He along with actors Alex Fong Lik Sun and Stephy Tang Lai Yun attended. Siu Fong and Stephy have been together for awhile but they still exchanged gifts for Christmas. Stephy pointed out that Siu Fong made a rare gesture with flowers and card. Siu Fong revealed that his father after watching the film praised "future daughter in law" Stephy's great acting.
Siu Fong and Stephy arrived separately two nights ago. Stephy was a little late due to a traffic jam. They said that in the future they will promote in the Mainland and return to Hong Kong after Christmas. Did they buy gifts for each other? Stephy said that she already got it and was very surprised, because it actually had flowers, a card and a bag. She said, "It's very rare for him to give a card and flowers. After giving me flowers during the first year he never did again. This was the second time I received flowers." Siu Fong added that she said that she did not like flowers too much. Later he read in an interview that actually she liked to get flowers from her boyfriend. Thus this time he chose to give her roses. Did Stephy like them very much? She sweetly said, "I do, I selectively like them!" She still have not given Siu Fong a gift yet and hoped that she would be able to surprise him.
Siu Fong said that he received the support of many friends at the premiere. Stephy also received a lot of text messages from friends to say that after watching the film their eyes were swollen from crying. She was very happy that the film was be able to affect others. Thus at the celebration she was so happy that she got drunk. Siu Fong said that his father after watching the premiere, he sent a text message to praise how well Stephy performed. "Siu Tang performed very well, a character female star with looks. In the entire film her emotions were very rich in her performance, it was the best for Siu Tang."
Was Stephy very happy to receive her future father in law's praise. Siu Fong immediately chimed in, "They are very close, it's got nothing to do with who they are. Of course she is happy about getting praises." Stephy admitted that she was very happy. Actually Papa Fong also praised siu Fong. Siu Fong said that he complained to the director about why he made Stephy look very pretty but him not as handsome. Yip Lim Sum joked that he should not ask because he should have a mirror at home.

Jackie Chan two nights ago said that while working on a film he suddenly received the news of Jackie Chan Stuntman Association member Han Chun's passing. "This brother of me was nicknamed 'blade duller'. He has contributed a lot to the Jackie Chan Stuntman Association." Han Chun's junior colleague Ken Low Wai Kwong yesterday said, Han Chun two years ago was suffering from muscular dystrophy. The doctor finally said that he could "no longer be treated". Earlier he passed away at age 53. Han Chun's funeral will take place on the 16th at the International Funeral Parlor.

Cantonese film era star Tsi Law Lin passed away two nights ago at age 91. Tsi Law Chi was originally named Chow Kit Lin. Born in 1924, at age 13 she began to study Cantonese Opera. At 14 she made the leap to the silver screen. Her first lead role was BRIDGE OF JEALOUSY (CHO YIM LAN KIU). She has made over 100 films, including THE DUNCE ATTENDS A BIRTHDAY PARTY with Leung Sing Bo, A MYRIAD HOMES (CHIN MAN YUN GA) with Ng Cho Fan and Lo Tun, IN THE FACE OF DEMOLITION (NGAI LAU CHUN HIU), THE PRECIOUS LOTUS LAMP (BO LIN TUNG), THE SPLENDOR OF YOUTH (DOI LOK NIN WA), FAMILY (GA), SORROW OF THE GENTRY (CHU MOO YUEN) and others. Tsi Law Lin played mostly young girl, gentle wife and kind mother characters.
Tsi Law Lin with Ng Cho Fan, Pak Yin and others founded the Union Film Enterprises Ltd. Films included the Tsi Law Lan written, directed and starred LOVE IN MALAYA (MA LOI AH JI LUEN). Later she also founded the Tsi Law Lin Film Company. Her final film was the 1964 UNREWARDING LOVE (HUNG HOI CHING TIN). Tsi Law Lin became a Christian, after her retirement the Best Actress focused on spreading the gospel and volunteering. Her final public appearance was in November 2015 when she attended a Cantonese Opera event at the Yau Ma Lei Theater.
Also started in Cantonese films, Nancy Sit Ka Yin was saddened to hear about Tsi Law Lin's passing and would miss her. Although they never had a chance to work together, when they met they would chat. In her impression Tsi Law Lin was a friendly, loving elder who loved children. The last time Sit Ka Yin saw her was at an event last year, at the time Tsi Law Lin was still very lively.

The film IP MAN 3 two nights ago opened and made HK$ 7,872,622 including advanced screenings at the box office, 2 million more than the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS opening day and advanced screening box office of HK$ 5,823,903. IP MAN 3's opening day box office even reached HK$ 3,903,779 to become the 2015 Hong Kong film opening box office champion.
Two days ago among the opening day box office, IP MAN 3 at 39 cinemas had 357 shows, each show had an average admission of 135 people. In comparison STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was showing at 41 cinemas and 503 shows, each show had an average admission of 83 people; THE LITTLE PRINCE at 33 cinemas had 190 shows, the average show admission was 75 people; SNOOPY: THE PEANUTS MOVIE at 37 cinemas had 202 shows, each show had an average admission of 66 people; YO-KAI WATCH THE MOVIE at 27 cinemas had 107 shows, each show had an average admission of 55 people; IP MAN 3 successfully pulled away from fellow Christmas blockbusters to top the period.

Stephen Chow Sing Chi's new film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) will be released in both 2D and 3D formats on the Lunar New Year's Day. After releasing its first poster and trailer, the film company also announced its "five continent shaking" poster as well as on set photos of director Sing Yeh at work.
This poster concept featured the giant fish tail in the first trailer, as it invincibly held off the rising tides; the fish tail made the upper body of the beauty even more petite and frail, making people curious whether she was human or fish? Was the giant fish tail hers or did it come toward her? Also unveiled was photos of Sing Yeh at work, but he was either in deep thought or personally rehearsing. His effort was serious. The cast's costumes remained a mystery to keep audience anticipation high.

Among the over 100 awards last night, Kay and Hins Cheung King Hin each received four awards to become big winners. They both won the Global Hit Singer Award. Kay also won the Hit National Singer Award and with FRAGRANT WOMAN won Hit Mandarin Song Award. She choked up during her speech and said that music has brought her a lot of beautiful memories but also a lot of pressure, leading to her "pool of tears" during her acceptance. Kwan Sum Yin, Wing Yi, Endy Chow Kwok Yin, Ken Hung Cheuk Lap, Hui Ting Hung and Cheng Chun Won each won three awards. Rising in popularity recently, Ng Yeuk Hei only received two awards. Chow Kwok Yin and Wing Yi's performance this year made great strides. Chow Kwok Yin not only won the Hit Creative Singer Gold Prize but also the Hit Song Writing Award and Hit Asian Rock Singer Award; Wing Yi won the Hit Pop Jazz Singer, Hit Fever Music Collection and Hit Asian Singer award. When the host mentioned Wing Yi had to work while taking care of her family, Wing Yi broke down on the stage. Hung Cheuk Lap during his acceptance thanked his girlfriend Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) for her support publicly. First time singer Candy Law Lam won half a duet award with her song OLDER WOMAN YOUNG MAN LOVE with Mason Ma Ka Kwan.
Last night despite the lack of star power, many female singers still dressed up. Wing Yi during her acceptance recalled her unconscious mother at the hospital and broke down again. Guest Nancy Sit Ka Yin continued to her yellow dress from the TVB anniversary award show as sh continued to be "crowned".

The "Jing Girl" Connie Man Hoi Ling, Dominic Ho Ho Man, Iris Chung Choi Yi and Leslie Lam Lei Han starred film THE GIGOLO 2 (NGAP WONG 2) will be released in the middle of next month. The trailer was recently released online.
In the trailer Dominic got intimate with Connie and Leslie. Connie also was dressed in black lingerie and stocking. She even practiced her oral skills with tofu balls and cigars in order to become the top prostitute. Iris showed off her figure in a swimsuit. In another scene in which Tony Ho Wa Chiu tortured her, Iris was expressive and even had a back baring scene. The scenes were controversial, no wonder the trailer received over 150,000 hits.
Connie said that in the film she had many embarrassing difficulties. Being in bed with Dominic she was already very bashful. The "oral skill practice" scene was super embarrassing. "I was already very worried when I read the script. That day many people were on the set. It was very awkward, my face was all red, my mind was blank. I could only pretend everyone was invisible. Luckily the director got it in one take! When I watched the playback I too thought the result was very exaggerated!" Iris said that the torture scene was rather bloody. The shoot also felt very horrifying. Luckily she admitted that she was emotional, she got in and out of the character very quickly.

Raymond Wong Pak Ming and Patrick Tam Yiu Man yesterday promoted their film IP MAN 3 on Metro Radio. The film after five days in release in Hong Kong has already HK$ 23 million. Executive producer Wong Pak Ming predicted that the film will surpass its two predecessors. He said, "IP MAN made HK$ 20 million, IP MAN 2 made HK$ 43 million. I believe this time we will make over HK$ 50 million." Aside from Hong Kong box office success, the film also received good news elsewhere, like defeat STAR WARS in Singapore and the likelihood to become the highest grossing Chinese film in Malaysia. Thus next month a celebration will take place. When asked about a fourth installment, Wong Pak Min said that it will depend on time and word of mouth. He would hesitate to jump into it without any forethought.
Ah Tam in the film played a villain and had to take a beating from boxing champion Mike Tyson. Was he injured? He said, "My heart was injured from being scared. Actually I wanted to pay a double to take it for me, but no one was willing. However I was pretty honored to take a few punches form him. (Any bad take?) No, but Tyson hit me so hard I was out of the shot. Later he hug me back." Ah Tam also said that his sacrifice for the film was considerable. Thus director Wilson Yip Wai Shun promised him that next time he will play a good guy.

The 1992 Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing, Stephen Chow Sing Chi, Raymond Wong Pak Ming and Sandra Ng Kwan Yu starred film ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL (GA YAU HEI SI) will release a restored extended version during the Year of the Monkey. The trailer was posted on YouTube, which made fans very excited.
ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL was a classic Lunar New Year film from over 20 years ago. Lines from the film have become golden quotes that fans were able to recite. The restored extended version will be 10 minutes long than the Hong Kong version from over 20 years ago. It will be the overseas version. Back then ALL'S WELL ENDS WELL Korean version added a Cheung Kwok Wing gun scene, car burning and explosion. In the trailer Wong Pak Ming, Cheung Kwok Wing and Chow Sing Chi wore stocking over their heads in the scene in order to save the taken Ng Kwan Yu. Cheung Kwok Wing was just as cool with stockings on his head!

At the end of the 1950's, finally settled into a stable life, during his daily trip to take his young son to and from school, Ip Man meets another father Cheung Tin-chi; it so happens that Cheung is a fellow Wing Chun practitioner. Through their infrequent contact, the two fathers develop an interesting relationship. Unexpectedly, gangsters led by Sang are trying to take over properties in the neighbourhood and Ip Man decides to lead his students to guard the neighbourhood!
Ip Man's conflict with the gangsters becomes heated and he discovers that the boss behind the takeover is the foreigner Frank. Because Frank colludes with an English police superintendent, even the police inspector Fat Ball cannot do much to help. Undeterred, Ip Man stays to guard the Unexpectedly, Sang abducts the elementary school students to threaten the community and both Ip Man and Tin-chi's sons are taken. Ip Man arrives in time, and with Tin-chi's help, the Wing Chun duo save the children successfully! The gangsters' misdeeds are exposed in the media and the takeover of the neighbourhood ends. Unfortunately, tragedy hits Ip Man's family and he realizes that even though he is successful in saving the neighbourhood, he has neglected his own family. He decides to stay with his wife full time and leave other matters behind; troubles, however, do not leave him alone. After a fierce fight between Chinese and Western fighting styles, Ip Man earns Frank's respect!
Troubles keep coming. Tin-chi openly challenges Ip Man's authority and tries to make a name for himself by claiming to be 'authentic Wing Chun.' He openly challenges Ip Man into a fight! Between career and family, Ip Man chooses the latter and fulfils his promise to dance with Wing-sing. He gives up his reputation and status to be a real man.
Finally, with the encouragement from and arrangement by his wife, for himself and his family, Ip Man fights with Tin-Chi. Through this fight, he lets Tin-chi know that life belongs to oneself but not only to oneself. When Tin-chi is chasing after his ideals, he is effecting the life of his son. Like Ip Man, his life belongs to himself, to Wing-sing, to his sons and even to the martial arts.

Dominic Ho Ho Man and Connie Man Hoi Ling starred in the new film THE GIGOLO 2 (NGAP WONG 2). The actors' figures are just as attractive. The perfect body to the legendary duck king Ho Ho Man was an important "money making tool". Thus he always worked out to stay in shape. When he was working out at a park he suddenly went topless and drew attention from many pedestrians.
Man Hoi Ling had dessert for her eyes as she kept on scoping Ho Ho Man's chest. "Ho Ho Man is in great shape, tall, cool and fit. He is very easy on the eyes. Working with him on a bed scene I have a special sense of security!"
Facing Ho Ho Man's chest, she also showed off her career line in retaliation. Ho Ho Man joked, "Actually working out is my interest. In order to show an even better side in the film, I would have no distraction from showing my best to the audience."

Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephy Tang Lai Yun and director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) two nights ago attended the film ANNIVERSARY (GEI LIM YUT)'s exchange forum in Causeway Bay, around 40 to 50 fans attended. The trio even tried special beverages. The reporters asked Siu Fong and Stephy for a glass exchange wedding toast, but they were only willing to comply with a simple toast. Stephy said that she had to maintain her lady image because in the film she was too sassy. She was worried that the audience would think that she would really yell at Siu Fong like that in real life. She said, "Arguments kill a lot of cells, so I won't do that." Siu Fong also said that they normally would not argue because arguments hurt the relationship and cells, but when they finished their argument scenes the crew would give him a pat on his shoulder to comfort him. They thought that they really argued.
Siu Fong revealed that lately they went to the Mainland for audience appreciation events. "Hong Kong held advanced screenings from the 24th to the 27th, because of the overwhelming response they were extended from the 28th to the 30ths. The box office of those few days reached HK$ 6 million. For its official release on the 31st, the number of cinemas would double. I hope it will be able to pass HK$ 10 million. (IP MAN 3 is very strong at the box office.) I don't have any pressure. Their strength is their problem. They can pass HK$ 100 million, we are already very happy with passing HK$ 10 million. Just (Donnie) Yen Chi Tan's salary is already more than our box office, so it's normal. When we win word of mouth we already treat it like a victory> " Siu Fong also said that this was the fourth installment of their film series. The Gong Li, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Law Chung Him, Xiao Shenyang starred new film THE MONKEY KING 2 (SAI YAU GEI ji SUEN NG HUNG SAM DA BAK GWUT JING) earlier released its latest poster. It featured "the enraged golden monkey strikes the White Bone Spirit" as a salute to the Chinese comic strip master Mr. Zhao Hongben. Gong Li's "Demon Queen in White" also appeared for the first time on the poster.
Gong Li in the new film played the "Demon Queen" White Bone Spirit, who led various demons to attack the Venerable Tang Monk and his disciples. As the villain in the film, her costume has always been kept under wrap. In the latest poster, Gong Li finally appeared with a silver horned crown and costume. With self confidence she lured Sun Wukong and others to act, her dominant ways made people look forward her battles against the quartet. The team made what was special about the White Bone Spirit stand out from the original work's foundation, jumping from a mountain village minor demon to a "demon queen". With her strong presence Gong Li's performance transformed the character in a great demon queen in the film.
The new poster was based on Zhao Hongben's 1962 classic illustration SUN WUKONG THRICE STRUCK THE WHITE BONE SPIRIT. Sun Wukong Kwok Fu Sing raised his staff in pursuit of Gong Li. Piggy Xiao Shenyang and the Sand Monk Law Chung Him followed. On the run in the original, the White Bone Spirit turned into a self confident Demon Queen. Director Soi Cheang Po Shui said, "The quartet teams up to catch demons is an image that everyone in the country knows and are the most familiar with. I chose to bring back this classic to restore the nostalgia that we grew up with."

Because Siu Fong and Stephy went from being an on screen couple to a real couple, Stephy said that ten years ago they were not close at all. Now they have chemistry. She joked that thus they did not have "much communication" in life. Siu Fong said that when they made their first film they were not dating yet. With the second and third film they kept their romance underground. With this film they have already publicized their romance. He said, "People thought that it was a reality show, they wanted to see if we were really arguing like that in reality!"
When they worked together were their salaries higher? Siu Fong said, "I didn't ask this time, I don't know." Stephy said that it would be like promoting the film for her. The music industry's third report card, the 2015 Commercial Radio Ultimate Song Chart Awards took place last night at the Convention Center. 43 awards were presented. The fan voted "My Favorite Male Singer" and "My Favorite Female Singer" went to James Ng Yip Kwan and Kay Tse On Kay. "My Favorite Song" went to Brother Kwan's ACTUALLY SHE DIDN'T LOVE ME ENOUGH, along with the Rookie Gold Prize he won three awards. "My Favorite Group" went to Supper Moment. They even won with SONG OF HAPPINESS won the Ultimate Top Ten tenth place and Group gold prize. Like Brother Kwan they too became big winners with three awards. Tse On Kay and Joey Yung Cho Yi each won 2.5 awards. Joey has already her tenth Female Singer gold prize. She stated during her speech that starting a career was hard, keeping a career was even harder. For years she has been defending. This award was not easy to win because it was not just asking everyone to like her. She hoped to use her effort to make everyone feel that the applause for her every year was worth it.
Rumored to be pregnant, Kay received the Professional Recommendation Female Singer bronze prize. With RASHOMON with Juno Mak Chun Lung she won the "Ultimate Top Ten" sixth place. When she accepted her Female Singer award, host Sammy joked, "Now I am helping her to announce that she truly has good news. Everyone may ask me how am I qualify to help her with the announcement, because I was responsible for this award." Tse On Kay said that she never thought about winning Female Singer award. After ten years in the business, she might be more mature but her passion for singing and the world has not changed. When she accepted the Female Singer award, she stated that she has never thought that she would become everyone's Favorite Female Singer. At the time only because she liked Cantonese songs too much, she wanted to use her own dialect to sing for everyone. She also publicly thanked her husband Louis Cheung Kai Chung, because she not only learned a lot from him but he was also her fan. Whether the days were good or bad, he would treat her like treasure.
The first to jump from Rookie gold prize straight to the Male Singer award, Brother Kwan received applause from the entire crowd as encouragement. However he appeared stunned and scared, as he said that he did not know what to say. Earlier when he won the Rookie gold prize he could not stop crying. The event even arranged for a group of children to wear fog up glasses to sing his son in response to last time when he fog up his glasses from crying at the Jade Solid Gold Awards. Last night after he got on the sage he lost all composure. When he got emotional his glasses started to fog up again, no one was certain what he wanted to say. However in the end he did not forget to thank TVB because it had a lot of resources for him to try and experiment. Last night another "crybaby" was Mag Lam Yun Tung. Winning the "Ultimate Top Ten" ninth place with WE ALL GREW UP LIKE THIS, she like Brother Kwan already broke down in the audience. When she cried on the stage she revealed that Brother Kwan's victory made her cry so much that she lost her false eyelashes. She also said that she did not have much self confidence. Luckily those around her never gave up on her. She even gave special thanks to Alfred Hui Ting Hung for pulling her up, which made Hui Ting Hung break down in the audience.
Last night the Lyrics award recipient Wyman Wong Wai Man joked that his RASHOMON lyrics was based on songs like HOLDING A GRUDGE, so RASHOMON strictly speaking was a secondary creation. He said, "I changed my own lyrics, I won't sue myself. No one would sue me; but after the copyright law revisions, even if I don't sue myself, the governmetn can jump over me to represent me and sue me. So this year may be the last year I come to Ultimate. If next year I won't be able to come, I hope everyone would miss me. In the future, whether I would be in Pik Uk, Hei Ling Chau or Chi Ma Wan, whether it would be once or twice, I would insist on creating my favorite Cantonese songs." DJs Sammy, Jim, Donald, Sai So while presenting the technical awards also took the chance to have fun at the expense of singers over the copyright law revisions, saying when Alan Tam Wing Lun forgot his lyrics and looked at his cheat sheet, would he be sued? Hacken Lee Hak Kun stuck the lyrics on his luggage, took a photo and posted it online, would he be charged? When C.Y. Leung sang I LIKE YOU and put it online would he violate the law?
Before presenting anaward Jan Lamb Hoi Fung saluted a Commercial Radio female employee, referring to Winnie Yu Tsung who would attend the Ultimate Song Chart Awards every year. Because earlier Yu Tsung announced that she has retired from the Commercial Radio vice president and director posts started on New Year's Eve, she did not appear again yesterday. Lam Hoi Fung represented the radio station in thanking a Commercial Radio female employee. Because of her, one after another Ultimate moment appeared. The screen then followed with past singer's moments of victory. The last one was Yu Tsung's speech at the 2007 Ultimate Awards. Lamb Hoi Fung continued that this CR female employee would always dream, so CR2 became a station that only played Chinese songs, promote domestic music and release a highly transparent, fair and just pop music chart and one vote per person award show. He said, "Because a CR female employee, she loves to dream, on March 21 1988 she dreamt of the word 'Ultimate'. Since then every January 1st regardless of rain or storm this Ultimate Award show would take place." When Lamb Hoi Fung said that, all the CR2 DJs gave Yu Tsung a standing ovation.
When Mak Chun Lung accepted the Ultimate Record award for ADDENDUM, he said that the award was rather heavy. He even called Ronald Ng Lok Sing, Tse On Kay, Endy Chow Kwok Yin and others who participated on the album to the stage to share the joy. Juno said,"I want to thank everyone who like this love story that spans 12 years, thank you very much to the participating singers for giving me so much trust and allow me to tell a story. Thank you to my girlfriend, my cat, my brother and sister in law." Because the entire record has been on the chart, in the end the DJ suggested for him to sing the old song from 12 years ago and the start of the "story" BEARING A GRUDGE. Yet Juno's performance was a bit off. By the third verse he started to get "shaky". Later he even went a little off key.
Anthony Wong Chau Sun last night opened the show. As the 1995 Ultimate Rookie Male Singer gold prize winner he appeared in a black leather jacket and performed John Lennon's classic hit IMAGINE with a live band, much to the surprise of fans.

The Donnie Yen Chi Tan and Max Zhang Jin starred IP MAN 3 since opening on Christmas Eve has made HK$ 35 million over 9 days. On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day it crushed STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS to become the single day box office champion for two days in a row. The film will open in the Mainland in March and will probably reach even higher at the box office then.
The Alex Fong Lik Sun and Stephy Tang Lai Yun starred ANNIVERSARY (GEI LIM YUT) since opening on New Year's Eve has performed well because the stars and the director promoted and attended audience appreciation events all over. Director Patrick Kong (Yip Lim Sum) yesterday posted a photo at an audience appreciation event on social media. "We just broke through HK$ 10 million, thank you for your support!"

ATV Program SAM GOR GO KICK host Sam Leong Sing Chi recently got into the film industry and released the program's film version TOURNAMENT. Two nights ago the film held a screening at the Wanchai Art Center. Sam said that in the film he mixed together psychology, Tai Chi, Muay Thai kickboxing and mixed martial art into one. "This time the domestic production isn't just about fighting and killing, it wants to share with the audience something outside blood and violence like mid life crisis. (Would you study domestic production like Donnie Yen Chi Tan's IP MAN 3?) His film is top notch! If we can work together, it would be great if I play the villain and fight against him!"
