The film DRAGON TATTOO (GAU LUNG BUK BAI) earlier while shooting on location in Macau was taken to the police station to assist with an investigation after they shoot at the security force office without permission. Finally director Fruit Chan Gor signed an apology statement and admitted to his wrongdoing. Kevin Cheng Ka Wing was also held for 8 hours before his release. Yesterday Chan Gor and Ka Wing was shooting on location in Ho Man Tin. The film company boss Raymond Wong Pak Ming, producers John Chong Ching and Amy Chin Siu Wai visited the set.

Cheng Ka Wing sad that he was not worried at the Macau police station at all. He said, "It's like taking a break at the cafeteria. I even took a nap. The officers understood that I spent all night on the shoot and let me take a power nap on the sofa for more than a hour." Ka Wing said that because the director gave an explanation first, he did not panic at the time. He only followed the procedure to give a testimony, which he admitted was the first time in his life. He thanked the director for giving him the good experience. As for his girlfriend Grace Chan Hoi Lam, Ka Wing said, "I didn't tell her. The matter is resolved. I will have to go again anyway because the movie isn't done."

Korean star Jung Yong-Hwa yesterday with Michelle Wai Sze Nga attended their film COOK UP A STORM (KUET JIN SIK SUN)'s evcent. Yong-Hwa greeted everyone in Chinese and Cantonese. He even tried a tasting game with 20 fans. Fans were supposed to try the food but he could not help himself to try first. Originally he wanted to personally fed the fans, but the fans screamed "no". Sze Nga could only do it for him.

Before the event, they spoke to the media. Yong-Hwa admitted that he was not much of a cook but after making the movie he became interested. Not only his knife skills improved but now pasta was his best dish. This year he even cooked pasta for his mother for the first time. He said, "Maybe I added too much spice, it was so hot that it drove Mama to tears." Would Mama never dare to try anything else after that? He clarified. "Actually I thought it was very delicious, only too spicy. As a mother she would be happy with whatever I cook." He was also interested in culinary art training so he would be able to cook for his wife and children. He also revealed that Nicholas Tse Ting Fung made an entire apple tart for him to try and it was very tasty. If he had to make an entire tart for Ting Fung he could, but he was afraid that Ting Fung would be disappointed. As for shoot in the Czech Republic for the film, he said, "That was my first trip there. We went to a very pretty restaurant. I felt like I have become that restaurant's head chef." He also revealed that he went to have hot pot casserole and dim sum with the director there.

Speaking of working with Sze Nga, he said that for his first movie at first he was a little embarrassed. However Sze Nga was very nice and took care of him. Sze Nga said that during the shoot she called Yong-Hwa "Oppa", and she praised Yong-Hwa for learning very fast. She remembered the most when he was very surprised at each Chinese dish at the celebration. They could not help but call him a "foodie". Yong-Hwa stated, "I am a foodie." Did Sze Nga like guys like Yong-Hwa? She said, "Of course, every girl would. Today when I came to work, many co-workers came with me just to see him."

Earlier Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Halina Tam Siu Wan, Philip Keung Ho Man and Helena Law Lan worked on the film ADIEU (GO BIT JI HAU). Wai Sze Nga revealed that she and Louis Cheung Kai Chung would play a couple. Their daughter had leukemia. "The shoot took place around Christmas and New Year's Eve. Everyone else were happy but we were very heartbroken." Sze Nga played a mother before but she asked Cheung Kai Chung for advice. "Actually one of the reasons I took this film was I wanted to work with Cheung Kai Chung again. Before we worked on a comedy together. He was very sharp. I wanted to know how he would be like on a tragedy. He was very funny off camera but as soon as the cameras rolled he got into character. He was an actor with a lot of ideas."

Tam Siu Wan who has not appeared on screen for a long time recently made two movies. "The feelings all came back. With the right characters I would want to play them. (Would you return to TVB?) They haven't asked me, I wouldn't resist. The recent reruns of VIRTUES OF HARMONY got to my part. Watching again I thought it was pretty interesting. When I made them I had a lot of fun."

Lo Hoi Pang, Mak Cheung Ching, Stephen Wong Ka Lok and Fan Yik Man starred internet film HEUNG GONG FUNG WON HAI LIK ji GAU FU (HONG KONG STORM SERIES: GODFATHER) shot yesterday in Tsim Sha Tsui. One of the investors Heung Wa Bo also visited the set. In the scene yesterday after Lo Hoi Pang was shot, medical personnel Fan Yik Man and Wong Ka Lok treated him. This time aside from performing he also invested. He said that this was his second investment on an internet film. Internet movie had to accommodate mobile phone viewers and thus could not use wide angle shots. The production budget was not much different, but internet movie revenue would only be enough to make a living." Mak Bao sad that this internet movie would wrap but the Lunar New Year. After that he will make another new web drama, so he will not be traveling during the Lunar New Year. Brother Pang made the internet series INFERNAL AFFAIRS in the Mainland, he said that the salary was okay and enough to make a living for himself.

Johnnie To Kei Fung as the president attended the 11th Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival opening ceremony. Attending actors including Rain Lau Yuk Chui, Joman Chiang and Himmy Wong Ting Him. To Sir shared the achievements that past "Fresh Wave" directors have made recently in the domestic film industry. He encouraged a young of young director to insist upon original creation, work hard to develop domestic films and revealed that "Fresh Wave" has already been officially registered as a charitable organization to operate independently. He asked everyone to donate money to support "Fresh Wave".

To Sir said, "In the past we have worked with the Art Development Council's support for nine years. This time the reason behind the independence is that every year the ADC allocates a lot of funding to different groups, but some groups after receiving the funding do not develop with it. Thus it was very rare for new groups to join. Every year we would receive HK$ 4 million from ADC, then 5% less every year after. Thus aside from government support we also needed to find outside funding. We cannot completely rely on the government, otherwise it would be very hard for new groups to join."

With TRIVISA's good performance, To Sir said that he would continue to cultivate talented people but needed to find suitable scripts. He personally hoped to make movies without any pressure. He planned to make one this year. Did he have a script? He said, "I have never made movies with a script, never."

In addition, Lau Yuk Chui worked on a young director's film this year. She said, "I played a home prostitute without her left palm. I was back to my old job. I don't know why I don't get to play the rich wife, haha. At first I performed with the commercial 'hand in homework' method, but the new director made me feel like a rookie again. I thought about what an actor had to do. (Would you give up your salary for a good script?) The best would be the professional rate. Actually Hong Kong actor salary isn't great, but I would be a glutton for punishment when I see a good script. Now I get more a sense of satisfaction than money from acting."

15 years ago when the Hong Kong film market fell into its lowest period, Peter Lam Kin Ngok purchased Media Asia film company and invested in his first film INFERNAL AFFAIRS (MO GAN DOH). It rocked the world film industry and brought glory back to Hong Kong film. Two nights ago Media Asia Group held an event in Beijing. As Media Asia film chief Gordon Chan Ka Seung said, last year was Media Asia film's "preparation year". The entire team was actively in preparation for the 470 million yuan giant production MANHUNT, the upcoming release LOVE OFF THE CUFF (CHUN GIU GAU JI MING), the costume fantasy film LEGEND OF THE NAGA PEARLS, the hero action film GOD OF WAR, the historical film THE FOUNDING OF AN ARMY, the 3D LEGEND OF THE CONDOR HEROES and the television series INFERNAL AFFAIRS to bring good movies and shows in 2017.

Bona film group chief Yu Dong dragged Director Andrew Lau Wai Keung to the stage to introduce the August 1st release of THE FOUNDING OF AN ARMY. Yu Dong revealed that Lau Wai Keung spent over a year on research and visited a variety of history museums and memorial halls. Lau Wai Keung admitted that he felt an unprecedented pressure, everyday was heart pounding. He sad, "At first when I was asked to direct THE FOUNDING OF AN ARMY, how would I shoot it? I had no idea! The company was rather supportive of me, giving me its full support. Now I am busy with editing. The film was in production for many years. This time the pressure was the greatest, everyday was heart pounding because everyday we had explosion scenes. Sometimes we had several explosion scenes in one night, all with real explosions and not computer effects. Everyday I worried about people getting hurt. After every explosion the first thing I would ask was is anyone hurt? Silence was the most terrifying. Finally when someone answered then I was at ease. I was scared everyday I was on the set."

In addition, Media Asia television program production chief Leung Ka Shu brought the unaired INFERNAL AFFAIRS season 2 trailer. He said that because the film version director Lau Wai Keung was in the audience he felt the pressure.

BabyJohn says this scene hurts a little
Lawrence Cheng complains about how hard the intimate scenes with Chrissie Chau are too make
courtesy of on.cc

Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui again with his little guy "Leung Foon" starred in YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU GEI 3 ji NG GA YAU HE) with Chrissie Chau Sau Na, Larine Tang Yueping, and BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik. In the Lunar New Year film Ah Tan even asked his daughters Zaneta Cheng Yiu and Amanda Cheng Min to guest star. Because they were unknowns, when the boss watched the film he wanted to remove the scene. Ah Tan "stood firm" and refused. Later when the boss learned that they were Ah Tan's daughters, he immediately did a U-turn and wanted to keep the scene. Thus this scene was "brought to life" again.

As the director, Ah Tan arranged for him to share a bubble bath with Sister Na. It came from a look from Dior Cheng Yi Kin. "When Ekin was working a bath scene with bathtub scene with Sister Na in BREAK UP 100, he stared at me with a challenging look. He was holding Sister Na with bubbles all over, he did not thank me and his eyes seemed to tell me, 'look what you got me into'. I was very mad, I remembered it. Thus this scene was returning a favor to him. My tub was bigger than his. I even told the screen writer I had to have this scene. (Did you see anything?) Bubbles were everywhere. Honestly I had a little regret. It wasn't enjoyable at all. I not only had to keep Sister Na's feeling in mind but it was cold on the day of the shoot. We had to keep adding hot water to the tub. We soak in hot water for 3 hours, staring at each other and watching the other sweat. It wasn't romantic at all. After a shot I had to grab a towel and get up to watch the playback. The bubbles were all over me. It was rather awkward. Oh, Cheng Yi Kin I fell for your trick!" In another scene he and Sister Na had a 360 degree kiss. Ah Tan said, "The camera turned, not the people. I again used this scene for personal gain. I wanted to tell the whole world that she loved me, so she came to kiss me." Sister Na felt that this scene was necessary.

Ah Tan said that originally he had two daughters to supervise the set, but they got tired and left early. Ah Tan did not feel that making intimate scene in front of them was awkward. Instead he wanted them to know that the set had several dozen people with the lights. When Papa worked on a movie he was not taking advantage of anyone. It was not romantic at all.

In the film Ah Tan's daughters Cheng Yiu and Cheng Min guest starred. When the boss watched the film he did not know and wanted to remove their scene. Ah Tan seriously declined and said that his daughters could not be cut. The boss laughed after finding out, "Of course not!" Ah Tan's daughters were "brought to life again"; Cheng Yiu and Cheng Min played despicable office workers. Ah Tan praised their acting in the scene as Best Actress award winning. "Because they did what they excel the most in. Usually as soon as I open my mouth at home, they would roll their eyes. That was the expression I wanted, so they did very well. They could win an award." Ah Tan stated that he deliberately arranged for them to appear on camera. "One day the whole family cam to watch me make the movie MURDER (WONG FUNG MEI HAU JUM). In it Do Do (Carol Cheng Yui Ling) played a despicable business woman. As the elevator door closed, a pregnant lady and a little girl yelled wait. The pregnant lady was my wife and the little girl was my daughter. The little one was in the belly. My daughter after watching screamed with joy. I felt now it is time to keep it going once, as a Cheng family film. (Why did you not ask your wife to perform too?) I dd, she said, 'You have Sister Na, don't bother asking me.'" Sister Na jokingly asked Ah Tan not to set her up. Just as lucky, BabyJohn was squished against Larine's 36F bust. BabyJohn said, "This scene was like Captain Tsubasa taking a shot to the face. I thank her for her trust. The shoot wasn't embarrassing but talking about it was."

Stephen Chow Sing Chi decided to completely retreat behind the scene with the 2013 film JOURNEY TO THE WEST: CONQUERING THE DEMONS (SAI YAU GONG MOR PIN), which performed just as well critically and commercially. Last year's Lunar New Year film MERMAID (MEI YUN YU) performed well as well. This year Chow Sing Chi returned to the JOURNEY TO THE WEST series as JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK (SAI YAU FOOK YIU PIN) heads toward the Lunar New Year. Even though he left the directing to Tsui Hark he still was unwilling to return to the screen. "Let's see everyone's reaction first! Now there isn't much response." Would he consider playing Sun Wukong again? He shook his head. "Let's not!"

Chow Sing Chi has always directed his movies. This tme he asked Tsui Hark to direct. Tsui's fantasy with his own infinite creativity would push the film to another level. In the process Chow Sing Chi felt that the biggest difference was having to argue from the beginning to the end. He said, "Before I did it all, this time was an all new experience. The result was newer. I felt that this was very important, actually I liked that. Director Tsui was someone who truly worked to make movies for creativity. I have always admired him very much, so I felt that this time would be a process that I would enjoy very much. On one hand we had different opinions, but on the other we finished the project with different opinions. No one needed to take a step back because we could bring everything out in the open to talk about."

Did their arguments become heated? He asked Tsui Hark, "That's right! Where did all your fire go?" Tsui Hark relied, "I took it all to cook with! We haven't gotten to heated, actually before working together I was already mentally prepared. Creatively we both have different ideas. Sky is the limit for me, beyond the sky for him. With both of us in the air how do we get to the ground? We would put together the good stuff and avoid the bad."

This time not only the director is news, even the cast is all new. The Tang Monk role went to the last time's Wen Zhang to the red hot "Fresh Meat" Kris Wu Yifan. Wu Yifan stated that during the audition he was shaking a little when he faced Chow Sing Chi, not out of fright but of nerves because he asked him to play a deranged mental patient. Finally Chow Sing Chi chose his Chairman Wu to be Tang Monk. He even joked, "Actually he wasn't scared at all, he wasn't nervous either. He said that he liked to play this type of character. I never would have guessed that about him, but after watching him I was rolling on the floor laughing. He didn't look like he was crazy at all. He looked like he was convulsing."

Speaking of the Tang Monk, everyone would recognize the 1994 Chow Sing Chi's CHINESE ODYSSEY (SAI YAU GEI)'s Law Kar Ying as classic. They have not worked together in 22 years and were even rumored to be at odds. This time Brother Ying was invited to provide his voice to the Cantonese version of the film and the classic team had the chance to appear on the screen again. Chow Sing Chi mentioned Brother Kar Ying and showed respect. He said, "I feel Tang Monk himself was just like that, because Buddhist people should look pretty. For example Law Kar Ying, everyone knows how he is. It's very obvious!" Who was the more handsome between hm and Wu Yifan? He immediately said, "If compared to Law Kar Ying, I'm really sorry Chairman Wu!"

Dayo Wong won't add any kiss scene until Charmaine Sheh agrees

HMV opened its all new Central concpet store yesterday. Dayo Wong Tze Wah, Charmaine Sheh Sze Man, Ava Liu (Yu Kiu), Shiga Lin Sze Nga, and Stephen Shiu Jr. attended. Wong Tze Wah revealed that after the Lunar New Year he and Sheh Sze Man will work on an action comedy. He will play special agent 007's elder. He joked that he was so sharp that he had no "number". Tze Wah said that he had to maintain hs shape, but during ten day Lunar New Year holiday he would at least have 40 meals. Staying in shape would be hard. "I am even more gluttonous than everyone imagine. Even when my brain tells me I am full, I would keep eating like a gold fish!"

Tze Wah said that Ah Sheh in the film played a very powerful high ranking Hong Kong government official. Would they have any romance? He joked that it was inevitable. As for kiss scene, he said, "Actors are very passive with this, they would depend on what the actresses are willing to do!" Reporters joked that bed scenes were also action scenes, Tze Wah replied, "You are overthinking it. Actually that isn't the only thing, we even have what spy movies don't have!" Would he have to work out? Tze Wah said, "I guarantee that I won't give the audience a hard time, so they won't see my muscles!"

Ah Sheh wll play a high ranking government official. She said that she would bully Tze Wah with her power, but he would still wanted to protect her and help her. Tze Wah said that actors were very passive in kiss scenes. Ah Sheh said that she and Tze Wah had meetings and he asked her how far she would go. She admitted that she had no bottom line, the only problem was her old neck injury. She could only be pulled too hard or chopped at her neck. As for kiss scene, she believed that Tze Wah would quietly "sneak" it into the script. However this would be a comedy so the kiss would not be too excessive. She instead worried about Tze Wah's love for improvisation, because when they worked on a series earlier he often tricked her. Once she even hit him on the had with a tooth pick container. She did not found out it scarred him until earlier at their meeting, whenever she picked up her hand Tze Wah would naturally flinch. Ah Sheh even made fun of him for being so petty! Ah Sheh was also working on a movie with Louis Koo Tin Lok. In it they would have a very sweet kiss scene.

Koo Tin Lok was busy with wrapping up two movies before the Lunar New Year. Then he would have a week off before working with Sean Lau Ching Wan on their new film MING YUT JIN GEI.

Speaking of Andy Lau Tak Wa falling off a horse in Thailand, Goo Jai read about it in the news. From his personal experience, he was the most afraid of horses too because horses were very hard to control and depended on the person. Before riding them you must have lessons and proper communication. He said, "Horses actually know how to 'pick on people', so I am very afraid. When I was 2 or 3 Papa put me on a horse for a photo. The flash scared the horse, which tossed me off and stepped on my head. I have no memory of it, Pa told me about it!" Horse riding scenes were inevitable. Goo Jai said, "That's why when you see me in them I would be lead the horse or just stand next to the horse!" However he said that he ran into a very tame horse while making STEP INTO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI). When he spoke to it it nodded. No matter what though everyone should be careful, since horses were beyond your own control. Would he be more careful with action films? Goo Jai said that recently in an action film he tried to fight against twenty people. Reporters joked that he became "the strongest of the universe"? Goo Jai said, "(Donnie Yen) Chi Tan fought 20 all at once, I fought them separately. However I have never tried it before, t felt pretty fun. Luckily I wasn't hurt, and it was like a work out for me!"

Wong Tze Wah after finding out about Wa Jai's injury asked, "Huh? When did it happen? Wow, I hope he is fine! He probably returned earlier just to be safe, he should be fine. Wa Jai is in such a great shape!" Tze Wah said that once he rode a horse for fun but was thrown off twice in a minute. He said, "At first when I got on it it threw me off. When I got on again it ran toward a bush that it could pass but I couldn't. Brother Wa is in better shape than I am. He should be fine."

The Lunar New Year film LUCKY FAT MAN (NGOR YIU FAT DAT) two nights ago held its premiere. Actors Bob Lam Sing Bun, Mak Ling Ling, Natalie Tong Sze Wing, Jacquelin Chong Si Man, Angie Shum Yat Ka and Snow Suen Wai Suet attended. Ah Suet dressed up for the occasion but denied that it was her great liberation after marriage. She was only matching her adult video actress character in the film. She said that she did not need to consult her husband about what she wore.

Tong Sze Wing said that she would ask boyfriend Tony Hung Wing Sing to get tickets and support domestic films. Sze Wing in the film played a prostitute, but all the kiss and bed scenes were focused on Mak Ling Ling and Bob. She would have sexy costume performance, a change from her past nice girl image.

Lam Sing Bun for his first Lunar New Year film lead played a couple with Mak Ling Ling in the film. He even joked that Sister Ling Ling was great in bed, actually she slept very well. Sister Ling Ling complained that Bob changed the script on the spot and improvised to keep her from delivering her lines. He even hit her with lottery tickets. Bob then praised Sister Ling Ling for being very nice, constantly treating the actors to abalone and bird's nest.

Universe group last night held its 30th anniversary dinner. Many in the industry came to celebrate. Anthony Wong Chau Sun came early and joked that he was looking for job with the two bosses Albert Yeung Sau Sing and Daneil Lam Siu Ming. The trio often chatted and seemed to be preparing for a big project. Boss Lam Siu Ming revealed that this year the company will make sequels to OUT OF INFERNO (TOH CHOOK SUN TIN) and THE WHITE STORM (SO DUK). The Andy Lau Tak Wa starred SHOCK WAVE (CHAK DAN JUEN GA) will be released at the end of April. Lam Siu Ming was not worried that Wa Jai's injury would affect the new film promotion and wish Wa Jai a speedy recovery. As for Elanne Kong Yeuk Lam's lawsuit, Lam Siu Ming said that it will probably be resolved this year and admitted that now they have already reached a point when they had nothing to say to each other. First they had to first resolve the contract problems. Because their contract originally was to 2019, she in principle would have to make compensation to him. However the judge would issue a verdict. Chau Sun said that he sent a text to Wa Jai. He said, "From the looks of it it wasn't too serious. Wa Jai is immortal I hope he is fine. Horseriding can be scary, when it goes mad it's very terrifying."

Director Johnnie To Kei Fung also consoled Wa Ja. He said that according to his company no one should worry about Wa Jai's condition. However he was hurt. For now he had no film project with Wa Jai and he wished for him a speedy recovery. Sammo Hung Kam Bo would director and star in a new film. Last night he came with his two sons. He too wished for a speedy recovery for Wa Jai because he was healthy and strong. He joked that if he fell off a horse now he would be in greater trouble. Natalie Tong Sze Wing yesterday shared something meaningful online and was mistaken for a relationship change with boyfriend Tony Hung Wing Sing. "Last year I talked too much about my relationship. This year I want to focus on work. If we have any problem I would tell everyone." Sze Wing admitted that she has not seen her boyfriend in some time. Were they not living together? She said coyly, "You are living together." Sze Wng stressed that she did not want to talk about her love life because she was not good at expressing herself.

Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui and Larine Tang Yueping yesterday promoted their new film YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU GEI 3) on the radio. Speaking of the film's Lunar New Year release, Ah Tan said that after finding out he immediately called in all his favors for guest stars. "You know how little money Hong Kong film has! However I would give guest stars big lai see, not just a 'flash card (thank you card). I have received many myself!"

Playing his daughter in the film, Larine was asked if she was used to film promotion. She admitted that she always had her head in the clouds. "I have never been much of a talker, I admit that it's a problem for me. I have to learn from Dad (Ah Tan) and Sister Na (Chrissie Chau Sau Na)." Speaking of all the lai see from the Lunar New Year promotions, Larine said, "Right! Then do I have to give them too? I would rather be the one getting them! (Will your parents attend the premiere?) They will! My Mommy really like to (Louis) Cheung Kai Chung, they might come just to get a photo with him."
