Nicholas Tse Ting Fung, Korean star Jung Yong-Hwa and Michelle Wai Sze Nga two nights ago attended their film COOK UP A STORM (KUET JIN SIK SUN) charity premiere at Causeway Bay. Emperor boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing, executive producer Mani Fok Man Hei, producer Manfred Wong (Man Jun) and director Raymond Yip Wai Man promoted the film. A five minute confidential video was shown. To celebrate the Lunar New Year in advanced, actors and guests performed a "Lo Hei" ceremony!

When Jung Yong-Hwa appeared, he greeted everyone in Cantonese. "Hi everyone, I am Jung Yong-Hwa". Fans screamed all over. Ting Fung also wished everyone an early Happy New Year and said that eating was the most important. I wished that everyone would get to eat. On the stage Ting Fung also fed Jung Yong-Hwa Hong Kong snacks like eggettes and fish balls. Jung Yong-Hwa praised in Putonghua after tasting, "Very delicious!"

Ting Fung praised Jung Yong-Hwa as a professional actor. The first he met him, he saw how he cut cucumbers in the kitchen and knew that he trained hard before. Jung Yong-Hwa revealed that during practice he cut himself, because on camera the hardest part wasto perform his expertise on cooking. He also said that aside from Ting Fung's apple pie, he also tried roast pork. If one day Ting Fung would open a restaurant, he would definitely visit everyday.

Ting Fung was asked if he would consider opening a restaurant. He stated that he has not thought about it. "With my personality I would keep my eye on the food 24 hours a day. The boss would complain about my lack of music and movies. Now instead I am pretty free, when I have time I would be a cuisine consultant or guest chef. Instead I have even more space. I am trying to merge food with film and television, for example my cookie making, CHEF NIC is already in its third season, and this film. The Chef Nic brand is starting to mature, I want to use a different style to keep it going."

Speaking of rumors that his father Patrick Tse Yin becoming a father again, Ting Fung said, "I heard about it, it's funny! I didn't ask him, I told my sister to. He sent me a few foul language replies like you are X crazy! (So humorous?) Are you calling me or the person who passed the message humorous? (What was your reaction?) Just like what he told me."

Jung Yong-Hwa said that after first taking the role he began practicing cutting. He practiced for four to five months but he did not study with anyone. He only relied on chef videos. He was not injured until later in the shoot when he got a little careless. Jung Yong-Hwa also said that he would not care whether his future girlfriend or wife would be able to cook, since he would be able to cook for her too.

Wai Sze Nga revealed that she gained five pounds during the shoot. "In the film I had to pretend to taste, but often after the camera stopped rolling I still put the food in my mouth. Sometimes Ting Fung would cook and I would finish before leaving work." She said that she asked Ting Fung about how to make salt water chicken wings. "I want to cook it for my boyfriend, but after he had it we broke up. Maybe I missed something and added a little more salt. I will review it!"

Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui yesterday led Larine Tang Yueping, Hedwig Tam Sin Yin, daughters Zaneta and Amanda Cheng to promote their film YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU GEI 3 ji NG GA YAU HEI) at the wishing tree in Tai Po. Ah Tan said that while visiting on the Lunar New Year's Day, he received film company box office announcements. At first he was very nervous. He was very happy to learn in the end that the cinemas were sold out. He said, "From the Lunar 29th to the New Year's Day, the film had over 3 million over 3 days or over 1 million per day. With such a good performance for my first Lunar New Year film, I am very excited!" He also said that his on screen daughter Tang Yueping brought the film luck.

Ah Tan said that he never thought about the box office, the most important was for the audience to have fun and good word of mouth. I hoped that the film would perform well and the boss would be pleased, then he would have a bonus. Has he considered a sequel? Ah Tan said to Tang Yueping, "She is a star now, I have to ask her if she would have any time to make it." Tang Yueping said, "When Brother Tan asks, I would work even for no salary."

Tsui Hark and Stephen Chow's film becomes the Lunar New Year film champion
JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK reaches 500 million RMB in two days and may pass MERMAID
courtesy of mingpao.com

This year the Hong Kong and China Lunar New Year box office went to the Stephen Chow Sing Chi produced, Tsui Hark directed JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK; yesterday on the Lunar 2nd its Mainland two day box office was already at 500 million RMB, with hopes to break Sing Yeh's MERMAID and its 3.389 billion box office record. From the Lunar New Year's Eve late show and the Lunar New Year's Day opening box office the film accumulated over HK$ 5.6 million. With yesterday's single day box office (as of 8PM) of HK$ 3.38 million, the film will soon pass HK$ 10 million and have no difficulty to become the Year of the Rooster Hong Kong box office champion.

The heavily contested Lunar New Year slot of the past 4 to 5 years was not popular this year. The only Hong Kong film was the Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui and Chrissie Chau Sau Na starred YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU 3 GEI ji NG GA YAU HE). Among the foreign films were RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER and the Oscar favorite LA LA LAND. In the Mainland many film companies would rather avoid direct confrontation and dividing up everyone's box office. With less films fighting over the slot, the Mainland Spring Festival opening box office reached new heights with 800 million RMB. 3.67 million went to JOURNEY and broke Sing Yeh's MERMAID single day box office record last year. In second place was the Wang Baoqiang directed BUDDIES IN INDIA. In third place was the Jackie Chan starred Lunar New Year film KUNG FU YOGA. Both made over 100 million at the box office. In Hong Kong, JOURNEY with the Lunar New Year's Eve late shows and the New Year's Day opening accumulated HK$ 5,601,756. RESIDENT EVIL THE FINAL CHAPTER tightly followed with HK$ 2.8 million. YUPPIE FANTASIA after 3 days in release made around HK$ 3 million.

Chrissie Chau wishes to find real love in the new year
Lawrence Cheng calls in favors for his new film

The Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui directed and starred YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU GEI 3 ji NG GA YAU HEI) became the Year of the Rooster Lunar New Year film. Brother Tan along with the cast Chrissie Chau Sau Na, BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik and Larine Tang Yueping wished everyone a Happy New Year. Brother Tan wished for even more Hong Kong films to appear this year. The single Sister Na looked forward to the little man of her heart to appear.

Brother Tan carried the "Lunar New Year film" banner for the first time so he had certain psychological pressure. Instead Sister Na and BabyJohn had Lunar New Year film experience. BabyJohn felt that the Lunar New Year was the time for film to blossom in variety. The audience would not be selective and would want to see every one. He hoped that everything would be good for everyone. Brother Tan agreed, "When four or five Lunar New Year films were released they were all critical and commercial hits. Many classic films were Lunar New Year films. To me making a Lunar New Year film was a stressful, so I had to call in favors from friends. I asked the Grasshoppers, Cheng Yi Kin, Cheung Chi Lam to guest star." Brother Tan said, "I sent my bath scene with Sister Na to Ekin in protest, of course I didn't tell him to come and watch. Otherwise he would have jumped in too." He said that he really had nothing bad to say about Cheung Chi Lam, Chilam in the film played a traffic cop. Brother Tan remembered that day they shot outside Cyberport but they ran into a storm. When Chilam arrived the storm warning was yellow, in make up it was red. When they took his mark the warning was already black. Finally this scene was shot under a narrow overpass. After the shoot he was in a three hour traffic jam back to the city. It was very memorable.

Brother Tan's on screen daughter Larine revealed, "In this scene I had to show my midriff. After the shoot I went to the hospital but not for a cold. The reason was that I heard black coffee could ease bloating. During make up at 4AM I had four black coffee. After over a week I ended up with a hole in my stomach. At first after pain at night I thought I was fine. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, went to the hospital and found out it was a big deal. I needed surgery to take care of it."

Brother Tan smacked the table out of rage and said, "You tell everyone what you did before getting out of the hospital." Tang Yueping said apologetically, "I had baked pork chop and rice." Brother Tan turned into a strict father. "She just got off the IR and had gastroscopy, yet she went to have baked pork chop and rice. I still want to slap her now." Larine after her release had a hospital scene, in which she also had baked pork chop and rice. This time she played herself exactly.

Brother Tan yelled at his "daughter" but actually really took care of her. When she returned to work he gave her caterpillar fungus and lingzhi mushroom and reminded her to take them everyday. Was Sister Na jealous? Brother Tan said, "I gave all of me to her, she has plenty at home. If I give them to her I am afraid that she would put them away and not use them." Sister Na said, "I want them, hurry up and give them to me."

As for his New Year's wish, Brother Tan wished that everyone would be like the film poster -- always with a smile; and for even more Hong Kong films to appear in the future. Sister Na did not expect the film would be a Lunar New Year film, she wished that everyone would happily watch the comedy, which was also the best New Year present. She would like to find someone like Brother Tan, a big man on the outside and a little man at home, with Brother Tan's intelligence, talent and knew how to cheer people up. Thus it would be difficult. Was age not a problem? Brother Tan joked that he would smack the table and leave. Sister Na said that age was not an issue. She liked mature men. However she would also appreciate "Young Fresh Meat" too.

Hong Kong film has been considered thriving in the Year of the Rooster. Although this Lunar New Year films did not have big stars or super productions, after the four day Spring Festival holiday Hong Kong film box office looked decent. The Mainland Spring Festival film box office even had fierce competition.

The Stephen Chow Sing Chi produced and Tsui Hark directed JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK opened on the Lunar New Year's Day with HK$5.01 million to be the Spring Festival Hong Kong box office champion. From second to fourth place were the Hollywood film RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER with HK$ 2.78 million, MOANA with HK$ 2.22 million, the Golden Globe Award big winner LA LA LAND with HK$ 2.04 million, and the Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui directed and starred with Chrissie Chau Sau Na Hong Kong film YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 (SIU NAM YUN JAU GEI 3 ji NG GA YAU HEI) made in fifth with HK$ 1.66 million. The four day holiday cumulative box office as of the 31st was still the Chow Sing Chi and Tsui Hark collaboration JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK with HK$ 16.6 million, RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER with 16.26 million, LA LA LAND with HK$ 12.97 million, MOANA with HK$ 11.88 million, YUPPIE FANTASIA 3 with HK$ 8.1 million. Only the third and fourth place switched places.

In the Mainland, Chow Sing Chi and Tsui Hark's JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK on the Lunar New Year's Day made 365 million RMB. It broke the Chow Sing Chi produced and directed MERMAID (MEI YUN YU)'s single day box office of 276 million RMB last yar for the Chinese film single day box office record. In second was the Wang Baoqiang starred BUDDIES IN INDIA with 193 million RMB. In third was the Jackie Chan and Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) starred KUNG FU YOGA with 141 million RMB. JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK accumulated 907 million RMB, KUNG FU YOGA advanced to second place wth 559 million RMB. BUDDIES IN INDIA fell to third with 464 million RMB. Jackie Chan's KUNG FU YOGA on the Lunar 4th rose to the single day box office champion with 152 million and defeated Chow Sing Chi's JOURNEY TO THE WEST THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK and its 148 million RMB. The future box office would depend on whether Jackie Chan would endure or Chow Sing Chi would be able to defend.

The Gigi Leung Wing Kei, Fish Liew Chi Yu, Jennifer Yu Heung Yi starred film SISTERHOOD (GWUT MUI) will open on the 23rd. Yesterday the ultimate poster was officially released. In blonde short hair Gg wore a masseuse uniform with the number 19, sadly staring at the number 18 in her hand. Inevitably it made people curious about who the number 18 belonged to and where she went.

Although the poster angle was a close up shot of Gigi, but actually Gigi and the poster production team paid attention to every detail. The entire shoot took place in a real massage parlor's locker room, which made Gigi even more emotionally involved during the poster shoot. "Working" at a massage parlor for the first time, Gigi admitted that it was quite an atmosphere. "This time I mainly had to shoot the poster at a Jordan massage parlor. I haven't been this type of places before. I would get massages myself, but in places different from this one. This massage parlor is older, but actually is quite an atmosphere. It's closer to some of the film's nostalgic feeling." She also said that she was a "massage addict" and liked to get massages because they had healthy results.

Law Kar Ying yesterday went to the Ko Shan Theater for the Rising Stars 2017 worship ceremony and presented incense sticks faithfully with a group of Cantonese Opera new comers as they prayed for a smooth performance. Brother Kar Ying said that this time he would not have to perform, as he was only responsible to coordinate backstage. Next week he will head to Taiwan for a new film for a month and will not be able to celebrate Valentine's Day with his wife Liza Wang Ming Chuen.

RISING STAR 2017 would provide a platform for new comers to perform. Brother Kar Ying said that the entire preparation was not difficult, only that the new comers were so busy on their own that coming up with a schedule for them to perform together was the most difficult. Will he focus on behind the scene work from now on? Brother Kar Ying said, "No, I have to make a living too. Later I will go to Taiwan for a month for a new film. I will work with Taiwan actors and play a grandpa character." Brother Kar Ying said that Stephen Chow Sing Chi asked him to work together again, but they were both busy. He believed that destiny would definitely bring them together again. As for JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK's success, Brother Kar Ying joked that it had nothing to do with him. He even said, "If their movie were made with Hong Kong people it would have been better. Hong Kong directors with Hong Kong actors would have spark, and the movie would be more entertaining than with Mainland actors. Mainland directors might not work well with Hong Kong actors either."

New film PARADOX (TAM LONG) already finished its over three months long shoot in Thailand and Hong Kong. Two nights ago on the Lunar 7th, People Day, a wrap banquet was held as the team celebrated together. Aside from the investors, producer Paco Wong, director Wilson Yip Wai Shun, actors Louis Koo Tin Lok, Wu Yue, Chris Collins, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Ken Low Wai Kwong, Jacky Cai Jie and Hanna Chan attended. Goo Jai gave away over HK$ 50,000 cash to the team, but he gave up on using red envelopes and directly gave away the paper currency as he became the new and cool "environment friendly fortune god"!

At the wrap banquet, producer Paco Wong not only thanked the team for their hard work on the film PARADOX but also praised lead actor Koo Tin Lok. He even "promoted" him and called him Lord Koo. "Thank you to the actors for their life risking performance, especially to Lord Koo for the unprecedented performance this time. I can't reveal too much, everyone will have to go to the moves. Also Big Brother (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo, his team is truly top notch. I also after SPL (SAT POR LONG) in 2004 had to wait 12 years to be able to work with him again."

In the film Goo Jai not only had a lot of action scenes that he personally performed but also had a big selling point with his relationship with his missing daughter. Giving his all to the film, at the wrap banquet Goo Jai also turned into fortune god. He had a thick stack of HK$ 500 bills and personally went to each table to give them away. Even investors and actors got some. He even joked, "I am not putting the money into red envelopes, direct distribution is both environmentally friendly and doesn't require to open anything." The wrap banquet had 9 tables. Goo Jai gave away a rough estimate of HK$ 50,000 cash, absolutely joy to the world.

Goo Jai gave away money, PARADOX's other lead actor Wu Yue gave away blessings. He personally wrote some couplet banners to give away to everyone. Paco Wong even praised Wu Yue for not only able to fight but also great at calligraphy. He absolutely was both tough and tender. As for another outstanding fighter in PARADOX, Chris Collins also brought his six year old son to experience the New Year atmosphere.

The event had a lucky cash drawing that originally gave away HK$ 100,000, but the amount kept growing. Finally almost HK$ 400,000 was given away. The biggest credit had to go to Lam Ka Tung. As the host he kept asking the investors to add more money in order for everyone of the behind the scene team to get some money. Director Yip Wai Shun, Lam Ka Tung, Cai Jie all generously gave. Goo Jai alone not only gave over HK$ 50,000 cash in lai see but also HK$ 40,000 for the lucky drawing. The prizes ranged from HK$ 500 to 20,000 as everyone had a fat Year of the Rooster!

The Stephen Chow Sing Chi produced, Tsui Hark directed JOURNEY TO THE WEST: THE DEMONS STRIKE BACK after seven days in release already made 1.2 billion at the box office. Yesterday the two generals brought the cast to promote in Chongqing. At the event, Sing Yeh and Tsu Hark even decoded many controversial mysteries of the film. They included "dark JOURNEY TO THE WEST" and Tang Monk kneeling to Sun Wukong! They said that the film had darkness but also had fairy tale, so it was suitable for both children and adults; as for the reversing the disciple kneeling to the master tradition, Sing Yeh said that the Tang Monk was tolerant and wise. Since he made a mistake he would admit his wrongdoing. Yet since childhood he has read in the story that this master often mistakenly blaming his disciple without apologizing. Thus he arranged for the master to apologize.

In addition, Sing Yeh in the film injected the "Buddha's Palm" elements for the third time. He admitted that he had a fondness for it, it was personal for him. In addition he has studied it before.

Angie Shum Yat Ka two days ago held a media Lunar New Year visit in Tsim Sha Tsui and announced her Year of the Rooster plans. Aside from two EPs, she will also make movies. Romantically she wanted to date, but was afraid that she might be too clinging. Angie revealed that her management company will merge with a Mainland public film company. The company will not only invest several hundred million on four to six films but will also form a record department. Angie said, "This year I will sing and act. I plan to release an EP in the summer and at the end of the year, I will also make two movies. One of them will be an inspirational musical that will start production in July." Still a novice at acting, Angie felt that the hardest to accommodate was the chemistry with her co-stars. Film production unlike singing was a group effort. Fortunately her co-stars have not yelled at her yet. In order to make up for what she was lacking, she was studying acting with a musical instructor.

The famous Taiwan director Wei Sheng-Te directed musical comedy 52HZ I LOVE YOU two nights ago held a Kwun Tong premiere. Leads Lin Chung-Yu, Chuang Chuan-Ying, Suming Rupi, Mify Chen attended and performed classic scenes from the film again. Four leads talked about the production. Chuang Chuan-Ying said that during the Lunar New Year they promoted the film in Taiwan. They and the director took 520 stems of roses to Ximending to give away to everyone. Mify said that for her first film she already had a kiss scene and a bed scene with Suming Rupi, the experience of which was very memorable. Lin Chung-Yu joked that the only thing that upset him was the lack of a kiss scene. Director Wei Te-Sheng said that the film had to record live sounds. The actors had to sing, act and take their mark, so before the shoot he had to take care of the music. The communication process was rather difficulty. Did the actors want to eat anything special in Hong Kong? Chuang Chuan-Ying and Suming Ruip wanted to go for dim sum, Mify wanted beef pho while Lin Chung-Yu wanted buttered pineapple bun.

Nicholas Tse Ting Fung earlier appeared on TVB Entertainment News channel's program STARTALK with Korean star Jung Yong-Hwa to talk about their Emperor Motion Picture COOK UP A STORM (KUET JIN SIK SUN). Ting Fung said that while working wth Jung Yong-Hwa, communication was a little difficult because of the language barrier. They did not understand what the other was saying, but they did not have any bad take due to the language barrier. Ting Fung praised Jung Yong-Hwa as hard working and professional. Their first collaboration had great pace and chemistry.

Jung Yong-Hwa said that he did not havee much kitchen experience and thus before the shoot worked on his cutting. After this film he fell in love with cookng and thanked Ting Fung for teaching him. He hoped that they would have more chances to work together in the future. Ting Fung also looked forward to their collaboration in music.

Yesterday Tng Fung posted a photo on facebook with scars all over his arms and shoulders. "The doctor says that I can't stay in the kitchen for a long duration, but if you want to learn to cook anything good in a short time maybe this is the price? #nevergiveup #chaseyourdream #guasha" Actually with all the time he spent with the spatula his arm tendon was infected. He went for a Gua Sha treatment for it.

The Francis Ng Chun Yu and Louis Koo Tin Lok starred film SHED SKIN PAPA earlier was chosen to be in the Tokyo Film Festival competition. Chun Yu played the character from age 17 to 79. His relationship with Goo Jai even left a deep impression with the jury. The film at the end of last year held mystery advanced screenings and had decent response.

Chun Yu played a 79 year old Alzheimer patient. He sat on a church pew. Soon his hand was shaking, he scratched and wet himself. Then he sniffed and licked his hand. That day was Chun Yu's birthday. The team presented a cake to celebrate with him. Chun Yu continued his old man appearance and clapped along with the birthday song!

Was the scene for real? Chun Yu joked, "When you drink more water you would naturally lose control. I am a professional actor, ha ha! (What about scratching yourself?) Some of the elderly would have skin illness that would itch. When I got into character I added a few gestures. I did several versions but I have no idea which one would be used." He also said that the day of the make up shoot Goo Jai originally did not have a scene. Because the make up process was hard to take, he called Goo Jai to move up the shoot. He thanked him for understanding!

Chun Yu admitted that gaining weight for the make up scene for not too hard, but the shoot took place in the summer. Everyday he spent 14 hours to put on and remove the make up and on the shoot. Although he complained without end, he felt it was the Hong Kong spirit.

He said, "I gained 70 some kilograms and had a belly. The 80 year eyes would droop a lot! I didn't sleep and I drank so they would droop even more. Then I had to lose 20 pounds in 12 days. It would be hard to reach 20 some inch waist young man with 4 pack abdominal muscles. I could only ask a coach to go through hellish training, remove sugar and salt from my diet. It was so tough that I cried, I was dizzy, nauseous and sore. (Would you turn it down next time?) It's more fun playing young, I had a little fun with the old make up and that's enough!"

Chun Yu actually did not know Jessie Li (Chun Xi), who played his wife in the film. Later he learned that she worked on with Aaron Kwok Fu Sing and Michael Ning (Bak Ji) on a movie and won many awards. Chun Yu sad, "Our relationship was very light, I feel this girl is pretty nice, pretty elegant."

The Stephen Chow Sing Chi produced, Tsui Hark directed Lunar New Year film has performed well since its release. In 10 days it already reached HK$ 21,761,676 in Hong Kong and over 1.4 billion RMB in the Mainland, breaking the Chinese film box office!

The film company recently released some production videos. Chow Sing Chi and Tsui Hark were dressed as cinema ushers with garbage bags and brooms to clean the cinema after the show. Tsui Hark while cleaning up tried to drive out the customers. "No Easter eggs, go!" Later Chow Sing Chi even took a bullhorn out of the garbage bag and stressed, "This isn't a blockbuster, so it has no Easter egg! If it is a blockbuster, how can it not have any Easter egg?" After that even he could not help but laugh.

Hong Kong female artist Lo Fun due to lung failure from dermamyositis passed away yesterday morning at age 63. Originally named Cheung Wai Fun, Lo Fun was born in 1954. In 1988 with the film WOMAN PRISON's "Shandong Lady" character she rose to fame. Later she often played mean woman and other ugly characters in series and films. With her lively and comedic performance she felt a deep impression. Her "Fiery Mother in Law" in the 1994 film HAIL THE JUDGE was the most memorable. In the past Lo Fun's Lunar New Year candy commercial with Korean star Lee Kwang-Soo was also classic.

In Lo Fun's family statement, she passed away from lung failure due to dermamyositis. She might have contracted the illness while working in the Mainland. She have always faced her illness bravely and participated in a variety of events. Yesterday afternoon her family again through social meda bid "farewell" to fans on behalf of Lo Fun. The post described "Lo Fun Spirit". "(She) brought endless positive energy to every viewer. We never imagine our happiest, most energetic, most healthiest you would become ill...with a rare seen in Hong Kong and terrifying type of arthritis named dermamyositis that was caused by immune system imbalance. Simply said the white blood cells were fighting against themselves in the body...dermamyositis led to lung fibrosis...you hoped to be able to share the experience after the recovery, even never thought about giving up. Each time we saw you you still had your smile, then you would say, 'I am fine, I will fight it to the death! I am an actor, the director wants me to play this role (patient)...' the ten month long 'production period' has ended, you have already given your greatest, greatest effort to play this role well..." Her family ended with "we are proud of you" and "see you in the next life".

Lo Fun rarely talked about her love life, but she has mentioned that her first love took place around age 15 or 16. At the time she fell for a 6 foot 3 guy, but because she felt he was not into it they ended up breaking up. In her 20s, Lo Fun and her then boyfriend reached the stage of talking about marriage. He was even preparing to register their marriage at the marriage registration office, but after some thought she in the end chose to turn around and became a "runaway bride"!

Many in the industry were saddened over the passing of this loud but kind friend. After her passing Julian Cheung Chi Lam's music video YOU ARE SO HARD TO FORGET, in which she made an appearance, spread like crazy online. Cheung Chi Lam yesterday helplessly said, "I can only say life is unexpected. I hope she would R.I.P. She was a happy person, our connection absolutely was a happy memory, the process of which we got along very well. So we wouldn't have any regret." Her WOMAN PRISON co-star Carol Cheng Yui Ling said, "She was rather iconic Hong Kong actress. When WOMAN started production, she was already very convincing in character. She had a lot of actor's ethics. I was the most touched when she retired she had a long term pension that she donated to help others. She was well worth respecting."

Friend Yu Mo Lin said that during the Lunar New Year she called Lo Fun. At the time she said that after recovering she would meet with her. "I am very saddened, I lost another old friend. I never thought that she would get off work so soon."

Yu Mo Lin revealed that Lo Fun became ill while working in the Mainland. After spending HK$ 200,000 she still was not healed. Even her work was affected. "Originally her role was bigger, later her lines were divided up between others. Because she couldn't even stand and needed a clutch, she either had to sit to deliver her lines or say less."

Yu Mo Lin also praised Lo Fun's optimistic personality and did not know being made ugly. "She didn't mind playing ugly, it's just acting. She like a man had many jobs, aside from retailing red wine, she also ran a supper club. Earlier she even made commercials."

Tin Kai Man talked with her over the phone several days ago. At the time she was still in good spirit. He said that he would visit her, which she said he did not have to. She even said that she will be released soon. She was generous, loyal, one of the few people who was willing to speak up (in the business). He received a call from her niece early in the morning, and he will follow up to see if he will be able to help.

Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin posted a work photo with Lo Fun online. "Aunt Lo Fun you left too suddenly. I still haven't had your Shanghai cooking. Thank you for bringing everyone joy on or off camera."
