Veteran action actor Philip Ko Fei was hospitalized for illness and passed away two nights ago at age 65. Artist Ken Ho Ka King yesterday confirmed the news of Ko Fei's passing online.

Originally named Lam Pak Hung, Ko Fei was known for playing villains. In the 70s he joined the film industry and appeared as an extra in the film DRAGON GATE INN. In 1981 Ko Fei began his journey as a director with DIRTY ANGEL in Taiwan. Since then he directed several dozen action films in Hong Kong and Taiwan. He participated in over 100 films and contributed a lot to the film industry as a producer, a director, an actor, an action designer, a screen writer and in other posts. Ko Fei with his great kung fu skills participated mostly in action films. He discovered Japanese action actress Yukari Oshima. At the time Ko Fei and Oshima were rumored to have wed, but both denied the matter.

Andy Lau Tak Wa who was still recovering from his injuries was saddened about Ko Fei's passing. "Another close action friend has left, my heart doesn't feel right and has regrets. I have known Ko Fei for many years, since the star soccer team. After leaving television I worked with him on movies. He was a great elder and taught us a lot. I wish a safe journey for Ko Fei, my condolences to his family. We will always remember him."

Fellow star soccer team members like Alan Tam Wing Lun and Cheung Kwok Keung shared their memories of Ko Fei. Alan was surprised and saddened ot hear the news. "He was a member of the star soccer team, but in the 90s he immigrated to the Philippines. I haven't seen him in over a decade. He and I worked together on YOU ARE MY DESTINY. We ran into each other in the stairway in one scene, as soon as we saw each other we fought......sigh, I really don't know what to say. You really have to cherish people around him, to properly take care of your body!" Cheung Kwok Keung and Ko Fei made a great pair on the star soccer team. "We knew each other for over 30 years. On the field his jersey number was 7 and mine was 11. When we were on the field to defend we would say '7-11', there was always one nearby. In the mid 80s, we had happy times on the field; in film he gave me two lead actor opportunities. I wish him a safe journey."

Simon Yam Tat Wa was upset. Actually Ko Fei once as executive producer invited Brother Wa to make KILLER'S ROMANCE, on the soccer field they also worked together many times. Brother Wa said, "He was a great person, he really took care of actors. He started as an action actor, he had a kind heart."

Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Joyce Cheng Yun Yi's new film 29+1 released its latest trailer. Sister Na in it wore business attire. In one scene she even threw herself at her on screen boyfriend Ben Yeung Sheung Bun.

Yun Yi not only had mouth to mouth, puppy love scenes like drinking from a bottle and riding bicycle. Yun Yi even tried to seduce him. Her all out performance was memorable for BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik. "Yun Yi's and my first impression of each other were not good, we felt that the other was very arrogant! I worried whether we could make ths scene. Later director (Kearen) Pang Sau Wai rehearsed with us. In less than ten minutes we were able to break the ice because we were both silly and real. Very quickly we became good friends! After two or three takes we got it! (Was it awkward?) we rehearsed before hand, we absolutely knew what we were doing."

Boss Raymond Wong Pak Ming denied the rumor but stated that the film has already started preparation. The script was still in progress but the original team has been confirmed.

Nina Paw Hee Ching and Susan Shaw Yam Yam yesterday attended the Hong Kong Film Critic Society new book event. Sister Bau with the film SHOW ME YOUR LOVE (DAI SAU HIN SIU SAU) was nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress. She said that she was not nervous since it was already her third nomination and she could expect who would win. Sister Bau picked Kara Wai Ying Hung to win, at the same time SOUL MATE's two new actresses Ma Sichun and Zhou Dongyu both performed very well. Did Sister Bau already rehearsed her Best Actress announcement expression? She said, "I already posted on social media still honored in defeated. Actually LOVE ME YOUR LOVE is a small production, I am already very grateful for the nomination." Sister Bau's husband Fong Ping would not be in Hong Kong so he would not walk with her on the red carpet. Sister Bau said that she would walk with her on screen son Raymond Wong Ho Yin and her younger version Michelle Wai Sze Nga. She also felt bad for Wai Sze Nga because the company did not apply for a nomination for her great performance. Luckily she was young and still had many chances.

Shaw Yam Yam expressed regret over the passing of fellow Shaw action actor Philip Ko Fei. Sister Yam Yam said, "We were very familiar, but I forgot whether we have worked together. We had contact way back when. Recently I heard that he was ill but I didn't visit. So when I heard the news of Ko Fei's passing I wasn't surprised." Speaking of Ko Fei's son suffering a stroke, Sister Yam Yam said, "It's very tragic, but I know that many groups spread the news to raise fund for him. Everyone has been very enthusiastic."

Joyce Cheng Yun Yi and BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik in the film 29+1 had a 20 year friendship since childhood; to match the story background, they blew bubbles, rode bicycles, had a walk in the park and brought back a lot of collective memories. Yun Yi felt that the entire matter was very innocent and very first love; Choi Hong Yik described this relationship was even more intimate than first love. They had no ambiguity, no romantic love, but they really understood each other.

They had many scenes together and even a kiss scene. Before the film they did not know each other and they felt that they were very cool. Under the leadership of director Kearen Pang Sau Wai they had rehearsals, so during the shoot they did not feel awkward. Yun Yi was happy to run into this good co-star and praised him as a good man on and off screen.

The 36th Hong Kong Film Award will take place on April 9th at the Hong Kong Cultural Center. Today the Best Film, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress categories are analyzed. In Best Film TRIVISA (SHU DAI JIU FUNG) has the greatest chance. Best Director would be a battle between Stephen Chow Sing Chi and Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung. For Best Supporting Actor Hong Kong Film Award rookie Philip Keung Ho Man will face two veteran actors Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Liu Kai Chi, Paul Chun Pui and Ng Man Tat. Best Supporting Actress is almost already in the pocket of Elaine Kam Yin Ling.

This year's Best Supporting Actor nominee Keung Ho Man with TRIVISA's outstanding performance would clash with WEEDS ON FIRE's Liu Kai Chi, MAD WORLD's Tsang Chi Wai, BOOK OF LOVE's Chun Pui and THE MENU's Ng Man Tat.

After 30 years in the business, Hak Jai received his first Hong Kong Film Award nomination and could not hide his excitement. He said, "I have to thank my wife Kam Wai Ying for silently supporting me, encouraging me to do what I like and not caring about the good or bad consequences or the amount of salary. She also tolerated me for bringing my performance emotions home. Actually co-stars are very important in acting, Lam Ka Tung ave me a lot of suggestions. I of course also hope Ka Tung would win Best Actor." Hok Jai was not confident about winning Best Supporting Actor and felt that he was only running along. He sad, "I am very happy to compete with four master class elders, all four are great so the choice is very hard. I feel it would be between Tsang Chi Wai and Ng Man Ta. Brother Tat's THE MENU performance steals the spotlight, as he is no longer the Ng Man Tat next to Chow Sing Chi."

Tsang Chi Wai with MAD WORLD vied for Best Supporting Actor. He felt that biggest competition would be WEEDS ON FIRE's Liu Kai Chi. He felt that Uncle Chi had a lot of screen time, but he remained full of confidence in himself. Chi Wai said, "I have a chance too. This time the character is very different from the previous ones, the change is pretty big. I like the rooftop and the parent sharing scenes. Both scenes have real emotions and don't need deliberate acting.

Although Wong Chun is competing for Best Director with MAD WORLD, Chi Wai stated that he was selfish and hoped that his son would win with SOUL MATE. Then father and son could win on the same stage. Shawn Yue Man Lok of course hoped that Wong Chun would win, but he felt that Tsang Kwok Cheung did very well with SOUL MATE. He said, "I asked Tsang Kwok Cheung how would a man made a woman movie that is so woman. This is the secret of women, even if they told you you might not be able to make it. Men utlimately would have difficulty with what women were thinking. However he was able to make it with such attention to details, it's not easy to talk about the relationship between girls."

Dubbed the "overqualified Supporting Actress", Elaine Kam Yin Ling earlier already won 3 Hong Kong Film Award and 2 Golden Horse Award Best Supporting Actress. One of the Golden Horse Award was for MAD WORLD. Thus this time she immediately became the top favorite at the Hong Kong Film Award.

Kam Yin Ling's competition came from her juniors, including COLD WAR 2's Janice Man Wing Shan, SISTERHOOD's Fish Liew Chi Yu, MERMAID's Kitty Zhang Yuqi and MAD WORLD's Charmaine Fong Ho Man. Kam Yin Ling said that each award's judging standards were different. This film has already brought her a lot of awards and joy, which she did not expect.

This year's Best Director category has two favorites, MERMAID's Stephen Chow Sing Chi and SOUL MATE's Derek Tsang Kwok Cheung. MERMAID with US$ 553 million global box offce became the highest grossing non Hollywood film. Earlier it already won Best Director at the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Award; the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild award's Best Director was split between Sing Yeh and Tsang Kwok Cheung.

Tsang Kwok Cheung's SOUL MATE also made both Zhou Dongyu and Ma Sichun the Golden Horse Award Best Actresses. With its decent word of mouth, it received the most nominations at this year's Hong Kong Film Award, with 12. Would he be able to challenge Sing Yeh and the 3 time Hong Kong Film Award winning director Johnnie To Kei Fung? To Kei Fung's THREE had a one take, six minute long gun fight, 360 degree slow motion actual battle could become a dark horse with its innovative methods. The other nominees were new directors, MAD WORLD's Wong Chun and TRIVISA's Frank Hui Hok Man, Jevons Au Man Kit and Vicky Wong Wai Kit.

TRIVISA is the favorite for Best Film. Producers Johnnie To Kei Fung and Wai Ka Fai led three new directors Hui Hok Man, Au Man Kit and Vicky Wong Wai Kit, created a chemical reaction that received the industry insiders' recognition. At the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Award and the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award it won Best Film, crushing its competition SOUL MATE, MERMAID, COLD WAR 2 and WEEDS ON FIRE with its momentum.

The film LOVE OFF THE CUFF (CHUN GIU GAU JI MING) will be the 41st Hong Kong International Film Festival opening film and on April 11th will premiere around the world. The film has been invited to the 19th Udine Far East Film Festival.

The film series reached its third installment. This time Jimmy (Shawn Yue Man Lok) continued to refuse to grow up, girls above all else and as usual a girl automatically threw herself at him. Sister Cherie displayed the true color of women to defend their eight year relationship. A girl even threw herself at Jimmy when he walked the dog at night. With his surfwheel trick he drew the attention of athlete Stephanie Au Hoi Shun. However they did not have any strong physical contact. In addition the director even got Best Supporting Actress DaDa Chan Jing and Shiga Lin Sze Nga to guest star and bring a little spark to Jimmy's life.

However Jimmy has always known how to please, as he was willing to spend time with Cherie's parents. Jimmy went to the market with Cherie's mommy Susan Shaw Yam Yam and chatted over tea. Cherie's father also appeared in this installment as Paul Chun Pui continued his television relationship with Miriam Yeung Chin Wa. The father daughter reunion of course made Chin Wa very happy. However in the film Brother Paul suddenly appeared after disappearing for years and even brought her step mother to be Wang Xiaochen to show off. Cherie was caught off guard but luckily Jimmy worked the father in law policy and won him over.

UNICEF Hong Kong's youth documentary THE WAY OUT yesterday held a premiere. BabyJohn Choi Hong Yik, Ng Siu Hin and Lau Siu Wa attended. BabyJohn revealed that his film VAMPIRE CLEANUP DEPARTMENT (GAU GEUNG CHING DOH FU)'s box office exceeded HK$ 5 million. Would he fulfill his swimwear promise to thank the audience? He said, "Lin Ming-Chen should be the one to wear a swimsuit. Actually I don't mind wearing swimwear outside my clothes, but first I have to nab her back from Taiwan to pay the bill. However, I still like for everyone to gather for a dinner the most. Now I am waiting for boss Ha Yu, then I will ask Brother Siu Ho to wear swimwear too!"

BabyJohn said that his other new film SHOCK WAVE (CHAK DAN JUEN GA) will open soon. He was very happy that recently Hong Kong film releases followed one after another, like the recent VAMPIRE CLEANUP DEPARTMENT, MAD WORLD, SHOCK WAVE and 29+1 will be released continuously. The impression was like a full bloom, which was always better than fighting among themselves. In addition some recent Hong Kong film subjects also examined social conditions and had Hong Kong film special colors.

The film 29+1 was based on the Kearen Pang Sau Wai written, directed and starred play. This time through Chrissie Chau Sau Na and Joyce Cheng Yun Yi it would be a portrait of women stepping into their 30s. Director Pang Sau Wai said that she paired Babyjohn Choi Hong Yik, a straight laced, kind, harmless and shy guy with Yun Yi for an interesting team. They also had chemical reaction with their appearance, but actually at first they were not too accepting. Yun Yi even wanted someone else. She said that actually they had a beautiful misunderstanding.

BabyJohn revealed, "We originally weren't close and didn't know each other. Once we ran into each other at a restaurant. She seemed to have been locked in a box and untouchable. I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to say hi." Yun Yi said, "At the same time I was waiting for him to look over and give him a nod, but he never did. I thought he must have thought that he was better than others after winning an award!" BabyJohn said, "I would have looked again, but what if she wouldn't say hi? I was better off not looking, which created our first awkward meeting." When did they break the ice? Yun Yi said that half an hour after they worked together. BabyJohn said, "15 minutes, we are both kind of dumb and kind of silly. Now we are good friends, occasionally we would facetime. We also worked together twice."

They had a kiss scene in the film. Yun Yi said, "Such a scene required a lot of trust. You might think that normally I talk a lot and laugh a lot, but I went to a girl school from age 6 to 18. I would be very nervous with such a scene. BabyJohn however made the whole thing OK." BabyJohn said, "It was during the period when Yun Yi and I were testing each other, the director could not help but take Yun Yi's place and tested the mark with me. However it felt really awkward, so after halfway I said I got it. Actually personal feeling wouldn't help, but in the film the director helped a lot."

Chau Sau Na also said that she was on the set for the scene. She looked at the monitor and told them to hurry up and finish. In the film she and co-star Ben Yeung Seung Bun had a tragic romance, which was quite a contrast to Yun Yi's happy couple. Sister Na said that in the film she and Yun Yi were born on the same day on the same month in the same year and both had to face 29+1. She said, "My character was very afraid of this age. After surviving the 7 year itch with my boyfriend I couldn't get married. So I was mostly unhappy. When they worked on their happy scene I walked by barefoot like a solitary ghost. It was probably the movie that I cried the most in, but the character had a lot of potential. During the shoot I was much thinner." In the film the director neither needed Sister Na to be sexy nor gave her no chance to show off her figure. She did not even have to wear a tiny tank top so she was able to focus on the feeling of 29+1.

Yun Yi admitted that she will soon turn 30. She said, "I am not scared at all because this doesn't represent actual number. It would be a turning point, which happened to me earlier. It would just be a number to me, a birthday, a chance to have cake." Sister Na said, "I am very afraid, when I made this film I just turned 30. It was like turning 29+1 many times. I also have experienced the very heartbreaking parts in the film, so at first I went in a little chubby, then I got thinner and thinner as the shoot went on."

The venue was decorated with director clapping board and cameras, as someone brought a cake with a photo of the director with a guitar.

Around 6PM, birthday boy Lau Wai Keung appeared with his wife Lai On Yi. A poster of the director jumping with a guitar was place outside. As for birthday wish, Lau Wai Keung said, "I wish to be healthy, everyone would be happy, everyone would have jobs, and the new film to be a hit. (Did your wife drop any hint?) No, I am grateful to her for taking care of the family and the children. I feel very comforted."

As for work, he said that his film THE FOUNDING OF AN ARMY will open at the end of July. Today he will go to Beijing to prepare for the April 13th production start for a new film, but he could not reveal any detail yet. Since he had to fly, would he not able to thoroughly enjoy the birthday party? He said, "Kind of, it will be an afternoon flight. After 10PM everyone could go home and sleep." With three sons and a daughter, he revealed that his daughter will go to New York for higher education in August. "She will study psychology, she says she wants to treat Dad because Dad's mind is not balanced. When my daughter goes away for school, I am both happy and sad. I want to take time to start school with her. Earlier when the sons went to school I didn't go with them, obviously I am playing favorites."

Fung Tak Lun was asked why his wife Shu Qi did not come along. He said that his wife was working overseas and he was her representative. Earlier they had a lot of fun in Japan. He said, "Really? (Are you so sweet normally?) I try not to talk about personal stuff." He revealed that lately he has been busy with his film post production. Will he visit his wife on the set? He said that he already went last time and hurried into the venue.

Recently returning to work in Hong Kong, Yip Suen revealed that her gift was some home decoration. She will stay for two or three days on this trip. Why did her boyfriend not come with her? She said, "He has a job in the Mainland, not in Hong Kong. (Earlier you were rumored to have broken up then married?) There are a lot of messy rumors. (How is your relationship?) OK, I very rarely think about the future. Thank you everyone for your concern." Would she say yes if he would propose? She said, "He hasn't yet. I don't want to think too far ahead. I won't know until he proposes."

Chong Sze Man brought a pink gift. She revealed it was a men's fashion item. She used to give wine, but a lot of people would as well.

The 36th Hong Kong Film Award will take place on April 9th at the Cultural Center. The most eye catching of course are the battles for Best Actor and Best Actress. Today we first analyze the Best Actor situation. First time Best Actor nominee with TRIVISA (SHU DAI JIU FUNG), Gordon Lam Ka Tung won the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Award and the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award Best Actor and was considered the favorite. After 30 years in the business, would Ka Fai defeat elders Francis Ng Chun Yu and Tony Leung Ka Fai for a taste of the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor? Ka Tung did not think about it. Friendship came first. Instead he picked his co-star Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) to win. Ka Tung was considered the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor favorite, many felt that it would be between him and SHED SKIN PAPA's Ng Chun Yu. Ka Tung said, "I haven't thought about it. The film indsutry is a big family. At the most recent Oscars, I saw that class. Everyone went to have fun, who won truly did not important. The most important was friendship came first. In the future everyone would have a chance to work together." He instead hoped after the nominaton he would have more chance to perform and develop in the future. "It doesn't mean that I would be selective with my roles and target space for development. Like this time with TRIVISA, luckily the directors loved to talk with me. We explored each other's inside world. The scene at the track, the pier and on the rooftop were very fun."

Among the three characters in TRIVISA, his character sent chills to people's bones. It was relatively outstanding. Ka Tung explained, "My character seemed normal, I didn't have many co-stars. I only had Hak Jai (Philip Keung Ho Man) and a little girl. Thus the directors focused on me. In comparison I had more potential, whch was also where my advantage lay." Ka Tung instead felt that Siu Chai was strong competition because he thought Siu Chai's character was not easy to play either. He has never seen Siu Chai so vicious.

When he jumped from television to film, he became a support player. Ka Tung was not disappointed; now he finally is nominated for Best Actor, but he did not feel he finally made it. He said, "I am very lucky. In comparison to my colleagues of the same period, I have been luckier than many people. Many have already changed jobs; of course, some had even better performance. I would lie to myself. I have worked with many directors and superstars, I probably have worked with anyone would mention: Fat Gor (Chow Yun Fat), (Alex) Man Chi Leung, (Anita) Mui Yim Fong, (Andy) Lau Tak Wa, (Tony) Leung Chiu Wai and others. My report card is very full, I am already very satisfied! I don't live for the award, I have not been able to predict an award. (Did you feel it came too late?) No, I would keep marching ahead, I still have room for improvement. Many people and things are waiting for me to discover."

Siu Chai felt that the advantage of his character was that he has never played such a role. Everyone was pleasantly surprised. He said, "The character difference was enormous. When you are rich, everyone tries to be your friend and kiss up to you; when you are in trouble, instead you are kissing up to other people. The change in mentality is huge. Ka Tung said that he has never seen me so vicious. Actually when I was in school I was like that. I was young and dumb, I constantly fought, I was very vicious! (Would the greatest competition come from Lam Ka Tung?) Every nominee is a good actor. Ka Tung is a very hard working actor, very in character. On the set I didn't see the Ka Tung I knew. It doesn't matter who would win. The nomination is already recognition and I am already very happy. I was in the U.S. when I heard about the nomination. Many asked if I wanted to win. I don't know. I expect not to win. If I do I would be jumping for joy!"

Siu Chai instead was happy to turn from singer to actor. His achievements today did not come easily. He said, "At first (Jacky) Cheung Hok Yau, Lau Tak Wa and (Aaron) Kwok Fu Sing went from very popular singers to making movies. it required time to build, one step at a time. I also took one step at a time to accumulate and prove myself, now I have a good star and experience the moment of the award announcement. In the past I participated as a guest." In the future, Siu Chai wanted to keep challenging himself. He wanted to play different genres and characters. He revealed that he planned to make his own trilogy THE GIRL ACROSS THE WAY LOOKS OVER, HEART TOO SOFT and HEARTBROKEN PACIFIC. They might not be all romantic. They would ultimately give everyone unexpected surprises.

First time Best Actor nominee, dark horse Yue Man Lok, said that he had no confidence to win. "I don't dare to think that I would win. I am already very happy with the nomination. I hope more people would watch the film so more people would know about bipolar disorder. That would be the biggest reward." SHED SKIN PAPA's Francis Ng Chun Yu, and the 4 time Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor with REIGN BEHIND THE CURTAIN, 92 LEGENDARY LA ROSE NOIRE, ELECTION and COLD WAR Tony Leung Ka Fai both said that they did not feel any different. If Leung Ka Fai wins, he would tie Tony Leung Chiu Wai's 5 time Hong Kong Best Actor record.

The 36th Hong Kong Film Award will take place on April 9th. The Best Actress competition caught attention. This year's race has been fierce. Both winning Golden Horse Best Actress with SOUL MATE, Zhou Dongyu and Ma Sichun will battle two Hong Kong Film Award Best Actress elders Kara Wai Ying Hung and Nina Paw Hee Ching.

Although all 5 nominees were evenly matched, HAPPINESS' Siu Hung indeed was the favorite. Both Sister Bau and Zhou Dongyu publicly picked her to win. Siu Hung earlier won Best Actress in Germany with this film and received recognition from directors, as she won the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild Award Best Actress; in addition she played the character with her mother as the blue print all the way to age 80 something. Her body language was rather outstanding. Was she confident about winning Best Actress again as she did with MY YOUNG AUNTIE and AT THE END OF DAYBREAK? Siu Hung said, "Nothing is certain, I already did my best. Box office and awards are beyond my control. I took the role mainly in hopes of through the film more people would understand the Alzheimer's disease. I took care of my Alzheimer's inflicted mother for decades. From mother in her youth, getting sick to old age, the illness becoming more and more severe and her health deteriorating, I knew about with absolute certainty; the performance to me wasn't too hard." Siu Hung stated that with the nomination of course she wanted to win, but it truly was beyond her control as other actresses performed very well too.

Sister Bau's performance in SHOW ME YOUR LOVE received raves. "Paw Hee Ching 'cooked up' a mother who was an impulsive, restless, mischievous and guilt ridden woman. Every second was drama. The most exciting was her sick bed farewell scene with her son, detailed with layers and hooked viewers in". However, Sister Bau did not pick herself. Instead she picked Siu Hung to win again. She said, "With limited budget, I already feel proud of the nomination. I feel that fortunately I have luck with the audience, everyone like the movie after watching it and are moved to tears. I believe my performance is decent, but the film's limited budget is a flaw. It is unable to be packaged to its most perfect, but the entire story structure is great. It is the real story of the director and his mother, it is very touching! (Who would you pick to win?) Of course my favorite and the most beloved Siu Hung! Siu Hung does great, her grasps on the physical aspects and the Alzheimer's are great, very precise. She deserves to win so many awards! (What about SOUL MATE's Zhou Dongyu and Ma Sichun?) They both are great, two young people do very well. They are invaluably rare. The race is definitely between these two movies. I feel that they are evenly matched. (Are you optimistic about your chances?) I wrote on fb I was honored in defeat, and I set a record. I have already been nominated for Best Actress many times, I am already very pleased!"

Zhou Dongyu and Ma Sichun's performance in SOUL MATE was detailed. Zhou Dongyu after winning the Golden Horse Best Actress earlier won the Hong Kong Film Critic Society Best Actress. At the time Zhou Dongyu picked Wai Ying Hung but also stated that she wanted to win the Hong Kong Film Award as well.

THE BOOK OF LOVE's Tang Wei due to the film's average word of mouth would more likely fall short in the competition.

Roger Vivier celebrates its Central Landmark Pop up Counter opening by inviting 10 trendy celebrities to design Photocall Bags that are on display. Although yesterday Cherie Chung Chor Hung and Carina Lau Ka Ling arrived one after another, the two film industry goddesses immediately greeted each other and took photos.

Ka Ling revealed that her own fashon label is preparing a fashion show at the Shanghai fashion week. She felt outside the film industry, being a designer also had a great sense of satisfaction and achievement. Has her husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai given her any critique? She boldly answered, "For now he has no reaction, maybe he doesn't dare to say it's not good. However, Wai Jai also gave me a lot of design inspiration, like exercising, meditation and he is very zen." As for Jackie Chan, Elaine Ng Yi Lei and her daughter becoming a topic again, Jackie Chan's friend Ka Ling lamented, "I read about it in the newspaper, it's very hard to talk about other people's families. I hope everyone would get over this smoothly, everyone have their own hardship." She said that she has never heard about Jackie Chan being extorted, and she has never seen him cry. Some said that Jackie Chan was a loving and loyal person. Ka Ling said, "People have many layers, not just one side. I have a lot of sides myself. What we see isn't all of his sides. We usually see Jackie Chan's happy side." Ka Ling felt tha Jackie Chan is a Hong Kong film industry outstanding artist, one that she as an artist would be proud of; as for his home life, it would be very difficult for others to talk about.

Hung Goo admitted that she was interested in designing. "I would create everyday, like floral arrangement. I would also travel, different places would lead to different inspirations." She said that she and Ka Ling have never worked together on a movie, perhaps she retired from the film industry too soon. Hung Goo's film LAST ROMANCE released a remastered version. She explained that it was director Yonfan's choice. Hung Goo did not plan to watch her own film again. "Maybe he really liked this movie, and it was a Yik Shu original creation. I think that my performance at the time was less than perfect, but the old structures in the film are pretty romantic and bring back some beautiful memories." She admitted that she minded her acting was not mature enough back then. Thus she would only watch parts of the film. She would not dare to watch the entire film.

As the representative work of internet literary that turns traditions upside down, WU KONG will thoroughly shake up the existing images of JOURNEY TO THE WEST. Peng Yu-Yan played the lead Wu Kong. He looked down upon everything and went against the world. Yue Man Lok played Yang Jin, whose life was full of helplessness from knowing the secret of life. Ni Ni's character Zi was very likely a mix of characters Yao and Zixia from the original work.

Director Derek Kwok Chi Kin revealed that each character was filled with even richer and more complicated value in order to create a "new world" that would be different from past JOURNEY TO THE WEST films.

In 2022, the world of virtual reality was upended by the arrival of a new invention from a genius programmer, Akihiko Kayaba. Called NerveGear, it was the first full-dive system and with it, came endless possibilities to VRMMORPGs.

In 2026, a new machine called the Augma is developed to compete against the NerveGear and its successor, the Amusphere. A next-gen wearable device, the Augma doesn't have a full-dive function like its predecessors. Instead, it uses Augmented Reality (AR) to get players into the game. It is safe, user-friendly and lets users play while they are conscious, making it an instant hit on the market. The most popular game on the system is “Ordinal Scale” (aka: OS), an ARMMORPG developed exclusively for the Augma.

Asuna and the gang have already been playing OS for a while, by the time Kirito decides to join them. They’re about to find out that Ordinal Scale isn’t all fun and games...

Tung has just been dismissed from the mental hospital where he's spent the last few years suffering from a severe form of bipolar disorder. He is not cured; his illness is one that can at best be managed. Once a successful financial analyst, Tung lost his job due to a nervous breakdown, and no one is willing to hire him back.

Tung's father is less than happy to have him back home in his tiny single-room apartment. A truck driver who must often travel to China, he's overcome with worry whenever he has to go away, leaving Tung and his medication regime unsupervised. During these periods of solitude, Tung is either at the mercy of nosy, narrow-minded neighbours or, worse, left alone with the ghosts of his past. That past is the source of rifts and resentment between father and son, and its invisible presence may suffocate them both in this claustrophobic shared space. Soon, though, the hostile world outside the apartment presents a whole other set of difficulties. - GIOVANNA FULVI

The 36th Hong Kong Film Award will take place tomorrow at the Cultural Center. Yesterday's worship ceremony took place with the Hong Kong Film Award Association president Derek Yee Tung Sing, host Ronald Cheng Chung Kei and Hong Kong Film Award board members. Yesterday the latest guest list was announced. It included Michael Hui Koon Man, Jackie Chan, Eric Tsang Chi Wai, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Leon Lai Ming, Raymond Wong Pak Ming, Karl Maka, Dean Shek Tin, Zhang Ziyi, Vicki Zhao Wei, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Shawn Yue Man Lok, Gordon Lam Ka Tung and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Cha). Best Dressed judges will be Simon Yam Tat Wa and his wife Qi Qi.

Cheng Chung Kei will host again this year but this time by himself, without Lam Ka Tung by his side. Ronald said, "Ka Tung this year will be in the audience. I am happy for him too. Selfishly I hope he wins!" As for the solo hosting gig, Ronald said that he had pressure but the event hoped to preserve more time for the guests and the winners so they would not be rushed.

Ronald this time will also be responsible for the opening performance. He will play many classic film characters and performed a classic film song medley. He sad that he will play other people's characters, including women. He also made up funny lyrics. After the Hong Kong Film Awards, Ronald will direct and star in his new drama GAU SUK (SALVATION).

Yee Tung Sing said that he has watched Ronald's rehearsal and said that he truly was a master of making people laugh hard and stealing the spotlight. Thus he asked viewers to watch the show on time.

As for this year's Hong Kong Film Award, Siu Bo said that more new screen writers and directors participated. He used to be pessimistic and felt that the film industry would have a gap from the northern migration. Yet this year Hong Kong had 27 new directors. He hoped that the new force will be able to create a new landscape.
