Wang Baoqiang, Liu Haoran, Kenneth Tsang Kong, Yuen Wah and Satoshi Tsumabuki starred in DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 2, which had a global box office of over HK$ 4 billion. Two nights ago the film held a "celebrity and friends advance screening" in Hong Kong. Tsang Kong and Yuen Wah showed their support.

Brother Ken in the film played a New York Chinatown "Godfather" while Yuen Wah ran a kung fu school and was Wang Baoqiang's master. Brother Wa said that he had a school in the film but he did not have many fight scenes. After a few punches he would leave the fight to his students. Brother Ken said, "I was even more comfortable, I only performed in a wheel chair. Instead the most difficult was the flight and the time difference. Originally it was a direct flight to New York, but halfway the plane ran out of water and needed repairs. It had to stop in Tokyo and San Francisco, arriving over ten hours later than expected in New York." Would they like to work together again? Brother Ken said, "I am always making movies. In this business actors of any age are needed. I will play as long as I get to!"

Charmaine Li two nights ago attended as an entertainment company managing director. She said that the new title was stressful and said that the company in the future will invest in film and concert productions. With suitable characters she would perform as well. Would she work with her husband Ricky Fan Chun Fung? Ah Fan said that it would feel very weird. He turned it down earlier. "I rarely act, the old lady graduated from Performing Art Academy. I don't want her to teach me every time, so we are better off working separately. At most I would be the master of ceremony at her film premiere!" He joked that he would accept a salary as the same, at most he would give a discount.

[2018.03.16] NICK CHEUNG BATTLES BRAINS AND BRAWN AGAINST A MYSTERIOUS ROBBER

New film BODIES AT REST (CHUM MUK DIK JING YUN) starred multiple Best Actor award winners Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) battled in the film from the beginning to the end, brains and brawn. With action galore, a bloody fatal combat took place in the morgue. Yesterday the 30 second conceptual teaser was released, from the beginning to the end it had a suffocating atmosphere of tension as a fatal race against time began. The intense music paired with the exciting gun fight scenes as Ka Fai finally said, "The game, it just started." The countdown clock effect elevated the tense atmosphere and informed the audience that they would have no much time left as a life and death journey was about to begin.

In the still, Cheung Ka Fai looked serious and intelligent as he prepared to battle brawn and brains with the mysterious robber. Siu Chai looked dark and even scarier than he did in TRIVISA (SHU DAI CHIU FUNG). What secret did the morgue hide? Ka Fai said that this time he had to play an attentive forensics doctor, which gave him even more understanding of the profession during the shoot. Siu Chai's character was very mysterious, which not only made people curious but he also could not reveal too much at this stage.

Dayo Wong Tze Wah and Charmaine Sheh Sze Man's Lunar New Year film AGENT MR. CHAN (DUNG DUK DUT GUNG) after 29 days in release in Hong Kong made over HK$ 44.31 and crushed the box office number of the 1991 Stephen Chow Sing Chi film FIGHT BACK TO SCHOOL (TOH HOK WAI LUNG) to reach the top 20 of Hong Kong film and Chinese film box office in history.

Tze Wah said, "Something that I didn't even dare to imagine happened. Because I never thought of it, I didn't feel like flowing in the air (even though I really want to). I only feel that if I have another chance to make a movie, I would have to work harder to repay everyone for their love and support."

Ah Sheh said, "To me personally it is very memorable. Because my series with Tze Wah 7 or 8 years ago performed very well, working together again critical success was already not easy, commercial success at the same time was extremely hard. The audience kept improving, so passing 40 million at the box office absolutely reflected how many viewers felt."

Nick Cheung Ka Fai's third turn as a director THE TROUGH (DAI NGAK CHO) not only shot on location in Shanghai, Japan and Thailand but also challenged action and car stunts. It will officially open on May 3rd. Ka Fai this time was writer, actor and director. Even he said he was crazy. "Transitioning from comedy to action drama of course s tough, but if I have to choose again I still would."

The film also had actors like Michael Miu Kiu Wai, Louis Cheung Kai Chung, Yuen Wah, Lam Suet, Philip Ng Won Lung, in competition with not only acting but also sharpshooting and physicality. They were more than masculine. Sam Gor worked with Ka Fai for the first time. He admitted, "Directing requires very clear thinking, very high emotional quotient. Ka Fai is very fast on his feet."

Cheung Ka Fai and other actors' THE TROUGH looks were officially unveiled yesterday. They were all special in their own way, proving that Ka Fai put a lot of thought into creating the characters.

Andy Lau Tak Wa is nominated for the Hong Kong Film Award Best Actor with SHOCK WAVE (CHAK DAN JUEN GA) this year. Yesterday Universe Entertainment announced its sequel in 2019. Wa Jai would appear in an all new story. Universe in June will also start production on the Louis Koo Tin Lok starred WHITE STORM 2 (SO DUK 2). Wa Jai also agreed to join the cast and produce the film.

The Hong Kong International Film and Television Market will open soon. The two films' concept posters were unveiled. THE WHITE STORM 2 poster featured a white powder formed gun and the silhouette of the three leads. Aside from Wa Jai and Goo Jai, heavyweight class stars are expected to join the production. THE WHITE STORM 2 will shoot on location in Hong Kong and the Philippines. This time the production budget would be over HK$ 200 million to strengthen the action scenes.

Herman Yau Lai To will direct both THE WHITE STORM 2 and SHOCK WAVE 2. The director revealed the connection between Lau Tak Wa and Koo Tin Lok's characters. "Both films have new characters and new stories, without any connection to the previous films; but the original subjects don't change." Universe's chief Daneil Lam Siu Ming also revealed, "Last year's production of SHOCK WAVE with Lau Tak Wa, director Yau Lai TO and Infinitus Production was very pleasant. Conceivably this golden triangle would set off new spark in THE WHITE STORM 2 and SHOCK WAVE 2 in anticipation of creating even better films for the audience." Currently the SHOCK WAVE 2 script was being worked on. Lam Siu Ming said, "SHOCK WAVE 2's story will be completely different, even more intense and exciting than the first."

The 12th Asian Film Awards took place last night at the Venetian Theatre at Venetian Macao. This year 21 awards were presented. The fresh out of the oven Best Actor and Best Actress were Louis Koo Tin Lok and Sylvia Chang (Cheung Ngai Ga). Sister Chang also doubled the happiness with the Lifetime Achievement Award. They celebrated with champagne backstage. The Best Film was Feng Xiaogang's YOUTH, as his films won the prize for a second straight year and probably the best present for his 60th birthday. A frequent award winners in recent years, Kara Wai Ying Hung received the Excellence in Asian Cinema award.

Winning his first Best Actor award with PARADOX (SAT POR LONG TAM LONG), Koo Tin Lok was a little stunned at the moment of the announcement. then he embraced Alvin Chau. After getting onto the stage guest presenter Carina Lau Ka Ling congratulated him with a kiss.

Goo Jai said, "I have been in over 20 years and made 100 movies. This was my first film award. Thank you to all the voters for voting for me. When I used to watch award shows at home with Pa, I would say try not to talk too much -- one thank you was enough. However please permit me to say a few words. I have to thank Yu Dong and Chau Cheuk Wa. Without them this movie wouldn't have happened; also thank you Paco (Wong). In past music awards everyone thanked Paco, I know. Paco earlier gave me a gold dragon plaque to me and said that it would bless me. If I won with this movie, he wanted me to return one to him. He truly is a gold label manager! I also have to thank director (Wilson) Yip Wai Shun. After working together so many times with him around I was especially at ease. Also Big Brother (Sammo) Hung Kam Bo, for being willing to spend the time on a non action actor like me."

Goo Jai finally thanked his manager and also his parents. Without them he would not be able to accept this award. When Lau Ka Ling leaned over to read the winner, she almost had a wardrobe malfunction and did not recover until after the award was presented.

Back stage, reporters said that Goo Jai garnered glory for Hong Kong. He replied, "Before hand I really never thought about winning, but this time I won the Asian Film Award. Did I just break out of Asia? Actually it's just my credit alone. It was a team effort. I never thought that I could be nominated with an action film." He said that the difficulty lay with the numerous stunts. His eyes almost popped out from watching them on the set, luckily he was not injured. As for his first award in his over 20 year career, he admitted that the feeling was hard to describe. However Pa used to tell him that thank you had to be said from the heart, not from the mouth. He has always done that and would do it low key. Would he like to win the Hong Kong Film Award next? "I don't want to think too much. I would do my part as an actor. It's fate. Of course I would be happy about winning an award."

Cheung Ngai Ga not only received the Lifetime Achievement award but also Best Actress. When she was announced to be the Best Actress she was surprised as he embraced guest presenters Eric Tsang Chi Wai and Teresa Mo Shun Kwan. Sister Chang said, "I really don't know what to say? I wasn't prepared at all, I was only prepared for the next award's script. I want to thank each worker for their contribution, I love you like family, thank you; also because that this film was full of warmth and love."

Making over 110 films, Sister Chang was very happy to receive the highest honor of Lifetime Achievement award. "Actually I am not someone who easily looks back, but I have to. I also thank each director and worker I have worked with. To be destined to work together is also a type of happiness. I would keep everyone's support in my heart." Sister Chang also said that when she was at Golden Harvest, the boss said that she was neither pretty nor photogenic; but she still was able to stand there, which was due to the love everyone has for her.

Ann Hui On Wa presented the Excellence in Asian Cinema award to Wai Ying Hung. Ann said that presenting to this good friend was extra meaningful because she has worked in the film industry for over 40 years. Everyone could see the results of her brilliance at work.

Sister Siu Hun embraced Ann on the stage and blew kisses to young actors. She said, "Thank you Asian Film Award. I really can't live up to this. When I was new I was very lucky, I ran into good elders and directors. In my 41 years in show business, I have had help from many people. Only because directors gave me opportunities would Wai Ying Hung be here today. From now on I would still give my all, learning from elders how to perform and cultivating new comers. I want to generously cultivate new actors."

Known as the "Doll Best Actress", retired artist Lee Ching was found dead at her apartment last month at age 69. Shaw yesterday held a memorial for her at the Hong Kong Film Archive to commemorate her film contributions. Tommy Tam (Ti Lung) and John Chiang Dai Wai attended with their wives. Ivy Ling Bo, Chin Han, Susan Shaw Yam Yam attended. Lee Ching's Best Actress award winning film MERMAID (YU MEI YUN) was screened as well as eulogy collection with messages from Ti Lung, Ling Po, Chiang Dai Wai, Cheng Pei Pei and other friends.

Ti Lung has worked with Lee Ching on many films. He lamented that no one would be successful forever, no flower would remain red always, and life was unexpected. He praised her as a good actress and was very willing to teach newcomers. "At the time she saw me reading a script and told me not to work so hard, to be more flexible instead of staring the script to death. I would then have even higher achievement in the future." He said that Lee Ching was happy and energetic, back then she was very gorgeous. "Just like flowers blossoming with spring wind, leaves fall with autumn moon. She now is like autumn leaves, quietly drifting across the wilderness."

Chiang Dai Wai worked with Lee Ching on three films. He revealed that when he joined Shaw Lee Ching was already Best Actress but she still was willing to teach and encourage them. He also remembered that how mischievous he used to be as he used to play pranks on her constantly. Ling Po worked with Lee Ching on MERMAID. When asked how she felt after watching MERMAID again, Ling Po broke down. "It's so sad! She was a great lead actress. I worked with her on many movies. She passed in such difficult circumstances, it's too sad!" Ling Po continued to praise Lee Ching on how smart she was. "When we made MERMAID, whatever the director asked her to do she picked it up right away and on the spot."

Last night the 12th Asian Film Award red carpet was star studded. Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Cherry Ngan Cheuk Ling and Janice Man Wing Shan were rather sexy. Carina Lau Ka Ling made a spotlight stealing grand entrance and became the focus of the entire event.

Recently becoming an action actress, Tang Lai Yun would present with Max Zhang Jin the newly added Best Action Film. She said that her dress was very fitting so she did not need to take too many precaution, but she fasted for a few days -- which might also had to do with poor appetite from the bad weather. Would she be even sexier for the Hong Kong Film Award? Stephy said, "I haven't chosen a dress yet, today I'm already wearing very little. I don't know what even less would look like. Let's see if destiny would find a suitable dress!" Some joked that Zhang Jin did not dare to look directly at his cohort. He joked that he was walking ahead to guide Stephy into the venue, so he was unable to see her sexy "back".

Man Wing Shan yesterday presented Best Screenplay with director Derek Kwok Chi Kin. She joked that she did not have to be sexy every year, with a pretty dress she would not mind. JM revealed that in April she will work on a modern series in the Mainland and stay for three months. Speaking of her former boss Leon Lai Ming's impending fatherhood rumor, JM said that she read it in the news. She has not congratulated him over text mainly because she did not know whether it was true or not. She also did not want to disturb him. However she said that she knew the mother Wing because they used to work together. However she was with Aarif Rahman (Lee Chi Ting) and not her.

Speaking of Lai Ming handing A Music to Wing, JM said, "I am not in Hong Kong all that often, I haven't seen Lai Ming in a long time. The last time we had dinner together was a year ago. I would wait for his response before I dare to congratulate him!"

Excellence in Asian Cinema award winner Wai Ying Hung said that she was very nervous to accept this award. Although this time was not a performance award, she was still all emotional. Thus she tried to prepare a speech before coming, but in the end she still gave up. "I would be better off saying what I feel on stage, which would also be my sincere words. Actually I have attended a few times before, I never thought that it would present such a big award to me."

Louis Koo Tin Lok appeared in a suit and purple bow tie. He said that he matched the clothes himself. However when he arrived he still was not nervous because he felt that the nomination was already a recognition. He would wait for Heaven's arrangement so he did not prepare a speech. A victory would mean his first Best Actor award and even breaking out of Hong Kong. Goo Jai said that he would worry about it when he wins. He did not book any book to celebrate because he still had to promote the annual Entertainment Expo. Taiwan star Darren Wang would present Best Costume. He revealed that in June he will with director Frankie Chen on a girl movie but denied it would be OUR TIMES 2. He said that it was only a misunderstanding and that this character would not be easy to play. His co-star would be an actress he has never worked with before, but he wanted to let the director make the announcement.

The highest honor the Most Excellent Film went to the Derek Chiu Sung Kei directed NO.1 CHUNG YING STREET, a film about the 1967 riot. Last year's winner was also a Hong Kong film MAD WORLD (YUT LIM MO MING). Chiu Sung Kei tearfully said, "I never thought that the most domestic film's world premier would not be in Hong Kong, but in Japan. I never expected that the Japanese audience would respond so enthusiastically. Many were moved to tears. Thus as soon as I got to the stage I took broke down in tears."

Alex Fong Lik Sun, Stephy Tang Lai Yun, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Jeannie Chan Ying, Stephanie Au Hoi Shun and Wu Tsz Tung yesterday attended the Race for Water as guests at the start of the race. On the stage Siu Fong even offered his hand to former girlfriend Stephy, who was in shock.

At the race start ceremony Siu Fong suddenly extended his hand to shake Stephy's, Stephy was stunned. After hesitating for a second she put her hand over her heart then extended her hand to shake Siu Fong's. Then Siu Fong hinted for Siu Chai, who was about to get on the stage, to wait for little so he and Stephy could pose for photos.

Then the event arranged for them to be interviewed separately. Siu Fong felt that since they belonged to different companies, separate interviews were very normal. He said, "I want to be interviewed together, I don't mind. (How about a picture together?) Sure, last year we did one too." He said that Stephy deserved her Film Critic Society Best Actress Award.

Stephy was asked about Siu Fong surprising her, she said that maybe she did not sleep enough. As soon as she turned around she saw such a big person and was frightened a little. In the original rundown he wasn't on the stage ye. Did she feel Siu Fong was much bigger? Stephy said that the clothes might make him a little bigger. Two years after their breakup, Stephy admitted that they would see each other at private events. Siu Fong also congratulated her on her recent award.

Philip Keung Ho Man and Kara Wai Ying Hung starred in the film TRACEY (CHUI SZE), in which he played a transsexual. In the poster he put on sexy ladies' underwear and lightly touched his chest with his right hand. On the eve of the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market, One Cool Film announced films that it will invest, produce and distribute this and next year. Aside from TRACEY, Keung Ho Man also starred in REMEMBER WHEN I FORGOT (DIN YING CHI HON) with Fish Liew Chi Yu. In the story a "film fanatic" appeared in the Hong Kong film industry. He was familiar with the film set operation. As long as something had to do with Hong Kong films he could come without any invitation required. He was suspected of being a mystery film critic and was investigated.

Other films included Louis Koo Tin Lok, Raymond Lam Fung and Jessica Hester Hsuan (Suen Huen) in the film BACK TO THE PAST (CHUM CHUN GEI) with the original cast of A STEP INTO THE PAST. New director Lai Chun Lung would direct. Koo Tin Lok and Suen Huen would work on another film A WITNESS OUT OF THE BLUE (FAN JUI YIN CHEUNG) with Louis Cheung Kai Chung. The Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild annual dinner and award presentation took place last night at the Intercontinental Hotel. Incumbent president Andrew Lau Wai Keung revealed that the 38 tables affair was the biggest in its history and hoped that next year even more different types of film workers would be invited, or even a joint event with other film organizations. At last night's award presentation, Louis Koo Tin Lok who won Best Actor earlier in Macau won again, while Teresa Mo Shun Kwan and Stephy Tang Lai Yun both won Best Actress.

Many industry insiders attended, including Koo Tin Lok, Miriam Yeung Chin Wa, Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai), Sylvia Chang, Ann Hui On Wa, Sandra Ng Kwan Yu, Peter Chan Ho Sun, Mabel Cheung Yuen Ting, Ng See Yuen, Yu Dong, Vicki Zhao Wei and others. President Lau Wai Keung revealed that last night's theme was "everlasting". Re-elected to the post he also recommended many young directors to be on the council and see what the new ideas the new generation has. He even said that the dinner was not just dinner. He hoped that the industry would forecast the future and share its joy and difficulties. He said, "I am the happiest to see (Dante) Lam Chiu Yin's OPERATION RED SEA becoming China's Lunar New Year box office champion."

After winning Best Actor in Macau, Koo Tin Lok last night won again. He was happy and excited, thanked the entire team for its effort. He would not think too much about his Hong Kong Film Award chances. When asked about his parents' response to his first Best Actor award, Goo Jai said, "They waited for me to come home and asked me to show them the award. Once in their hands they said it was very heavy then they went to sleep." President Lau Wai Keung hoped that Goo Jai would sing on the stage, he said, "No, I am afraid that it would send a chill throughout the place. Everyone would throw up after dinner." Best Director Sylvia Chang won her first Director's Guild award. She admitted that she did not start in academia. The road from actor o director was very hard to walk. All her film knowledge was learned on the set, so the director voted award had special meaning.

Mo Shun Kwan and Tang Lai Yun both won Best Actress. Sister Mo admitted that at first she threw away her form, otherwise she probably would have won by one vote. Stephy immediately thanked Sister Mo for not voting. Did Sister Mo regret that she threw out her voting form? She said, "It's very wonderful, I have never believed in fighting for one vote. If I lose I wouldn't lose by one and if I win I should win by a few votes. However I am happy about the award." Sister Mo said that her husband was not in Hong Kong before so he did not vote either. Now they have already quickly voted for the Hong Kong Film Award next month. Sister Mo said, "With Supporting Actress I have been nominated 7 times, is it so hard to win just once? The hardest is running into a good script. I don't know if I would still run into any chance for the rest of my life. If it's about qualification and experience, isn't it time for me?"

Rumored to be forming her own company and leaving Media Asia, Yeung Chin Wa last night confirmed that her contract with the company ended during her December concerts last year. Her relationship with her boss was proven to be good, even the contract ended they still put an effort into the production. Would Chin Wa sign with her husband Real Ting Chi Ko? She said, "The moment I signed the marriage certificate is already a contract, because I don't excel in job negotiations. Now I have a family and a son, I want to return to my own pace at work. However Media Asia would still distribute my records." When asked how much her husband's signing fee was, Chin Wa said, "Because I don't want to give myself this pressure I signed with my husband, because I want to be in charge. I still have room for collaboration with my old company." Chin Wa admitted that she was worried that working with her husband would have friction, but she believed that she would be able to handle it. In addition her family came first.

Playing Guan Yu, Han Geng said that because he knew how to ride a horse and liked to, he personally performed many of the scenes on horseback; in terms of performance, Han Geng felt this character's challenge was enormous. He once worried that he did not resemble the image so he did several months of homework before the shoot began, like working out to make himself stronger and more like Guan Yu. Playing Yuan Shao, Lui Leung Wai said that he was very happy to be able to work with Chow Hin Yeung because he had the set well under control and communicated very well with each actor. Thus everyone had a very pleasant production process.

Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Cya Liu, director Ang Lee's son Mason Lee, director Soi Cheang Pou Soi, producers Wilson Yip Wai Shun and Paco Wong yesterday at the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market promoted their murder suspense LIMBO (JI CHI). Lam Ka Tung remembered spending his birthday in the garbage dump, not only did he have to tolerate the trash and feces stench but also see rats scurrying across. Cya Liu described the work environment as very dirty and her character was constantly being chased by Lam Ka Tung.

Lam Ka Tung said that during the 3 months of making LIMBO, he had to punch, kick and torture Cya Liu. He might look like he enjoyed it but he felt very sorry inside. He said, "The director wanted me to be a little more vicious and not to hold back. My hands hurt from all the hitting. Cya Liu just let me hit and her face was swollen from getting hit. However everyone rather enjoyed it." Cya Liu joked that she really liked to make Hong Kong films but she never imagined it would be so tough. She felt that Hong Kong directors were very deranged. She also thanked Lam Ka Tung for hitting her, but everyday after work she would be full of injuries.

A HOME WITH A VIEW's Goo Jai revealed that Len Len and Chun Yu ate nonstop on the set. When they said they went to fix their make up they actually went to eat. Len Len said that she asked Goo Jai if he wanted to go. He did not because he wanted to get into character and said that he would not eat until after 6PM. However she stopped eating after 6PM so they were on different channels. As one of the producers, Tat Ming praised how in character Goo Jai's performance was. Goo Jai joked that if the shoot took place after 6PM he would not be.

The actors and guests posed for group photos and shared a toast on the stage later. Ah Sheh who was once rumored to get in between Chilam and Len Len immediately became the focus with the two also on hand. At first because Chilam took the wrong spot, the women stood together. Later Chilam realized that he stood in the wrong place and got in the middle of Len Len and Ah Sheh. Chilam looked embarrassed and stared straight ahead, as he did not dare to look at Len Len and Ah Sheh. Finally with the toast, Len Len and Ah Sheh went from no exchange originally to Ah Sheh raising a glass to Len Len. They toasted and warmed up the awkward atmosphere.

Ah Sheh, Chilam and Chun Yu were interviewed together. Was running into Len Len awkward for Ah Sheh? Ah Sheh asked, "Why?" Chilam asked, "Why what? (Some reports were written like this?) The reports had ulterior motives." Ah Sheh said that she ran into Len Len privately at a party and greeted her. Chilam was asked why he was "all stiff" between the two women. He joked, "Should I be all limp like a floppy snake?"

Len Len was asked about their somewhat unnatural and Chilam's stiff appearance. She said, "It's very normal, who was he standing next to that made him all stiff? (Ah Sheh?) We are familiar......(when did you come familiar?) Actually we aren't very familiar, we would greet each other at public events. I saw her a few times when I visited the set. Greeting is a courtesy. (Was it awkward?) Why would it be awkward? Chilam and both have been linked to many people in rumors, wouldn't we be too busy (from being awkward)? We are adults, not kids. There is nothing to be embarrassed about." When reporters were about to follow up, Len Len was already a little impatient and did not want to talk further about the subject.

Many focus film projects were announced as well, including the John Woo (Ng Yu Sum) produced, Huang Hai directed, Chan Sap Sam written THE KILLER (DIP HUET SEUNG HUNG). Chan Sap Sam said that he would keep the classic scenes from the original and add in new elements.

Wong Jing even revealed that he will make an epic similar to the 3.5 billion RMB hit OPERATION RED SEA and bring in Yen Chi Tan. Was his goal to make a bigger hit than RED SEA? Wong Jing said that the most important was to make a good movie, he would leave how many billion for the audience to decide. Chi Tan said that his salary was very cheap and he never thought about the box office. However he congratulated Dante Lam Chiu Yin for being able to break a Chinese film industry record and encourage everyone's spirit of putting an effort into film productions.

The 2018 Emperor Motion Pictures rundown took place at the Filmart yesterday as directors and actors introduced many films like INTEGRITY (LIM JING FUNG WON YIN MOK) with director Alan Mak Siu Fai and stars Sean Lau Ching, Nick Cheung Ka Fai and Karena Lam Ka Yun, THE LADY IMPROPER (FEI FUN SUK NUI) in which Charlene Choi Cheuk Yin ran into Taiwan television Best Actor Wu Kang-Jen and succumbed to various desires, 77 HEARTBURNS (GUM DONG NGOR 77 CHI) with stars Pakho Chau and Choi Cheuk Yin, WHEN THE SUN MEETS THE MOON (MAU YUT MAU YUET) with Kathy Yuen (Tong Yi) in her first lead role with Daichi Harashima, FATAL VISIT (SING HOR SAI MAU SAT ON) which was based on famous Hong Kong writer Candance Chong Mui Ngam's play of the same title with director Calvin Poon Yuen Leung, stars Sammi Cheng Sau Man, Tong Dawei and Choi Cheuk Yin in a heart pounding love triangle, COLD DETECTIVE (SUN TAM DAI JIN) with director Wai Ka Fai, stars Lau Ching Wan, Choi Cheuk Yin and Raymond Lam Fung, CROSSFIRE (FOR PING) with producer and director Benny Chan Muk Sing and producer and star Donnie Yen Chi Tan. In addition boss Albert Yeung Sau Sing and director Dante Lam Chiu Yin introduced two upcoming super heavyweight productions, one would be a film about water rescue with assistance from China Central Television and Ministry of Transport and the other would be a Cheung Ka Fai stared crime film.

In FATAL VISIT with Cheng Sau Man and Ah Sa, Sammi said that this character was darker and seemed to be ambiguous between good and evil. However she was able to leave the character. Ah Sa said that a simple breakfast scene only had a few lines but Sammi was completely "possessed" by another person. After the shoot her hair was standing on its end. Sammi replied, "It really was a little like being possessed. The dark side and some of the fierce arguments in the film showed a different me, dark yet a little scary. However the production process was pleasant, I also feel that this time I opened a new road in another director that is separate from my past performance."

Speaking of Leon Lai Ming's impending fatherhood, Sammi said that it would be the best to ask him to confirm. She also said to Ah Sa, "Let's talk about her!" Reporters immediately asked Ah Sa when she would wed? She awkwardly said, "She exposed my stuff!" Sammi joked, "I clarify that it was just talk!" Ah Sa said that she has been very busy, so Gillian Chung Yun Tung should be "bothered" first.

Lau Ching Wan and Lam Ka Yun in INTEGRITY would play a couple ICAC investigators. The event arranged for Ching Wan to see his LOST IN TIME (MONG BUT LIU) co-star Daichi Harashima and even asked him to pick him up like he did in the film. Ching Wan joked that he was afraid he would receive "sexual harassment" complaints "He is a big boy now, how would a boy let anyone pick him up. That's not too good!" Earlier at the Hong Kong Film Award he has seen Daichi Harashima and was surprised to see how much he grew. Back then he felt that he was energetic and did not need to sleep, very smart with his dialogue delivery. Ka Fai joked, "This is a mental disorder, having too much energy. I was like that too when I was young. I am cured, it's very painful!" Ching Wan joked that he got it wrong and now he probably is mentally ill. Ka Fai said, "Probably."

Lam Fung and Karena Ng Chin Yu's five year relationship has been rumored to have ended. Lam Fung finally admitted the breakup officially at the Filmart. Ng Chin Yu on social media said that she was wholeheartedly in the relationship for five years, to completely let go truly would not be easy. She asked everyone to give her space to adjust and bravely face the future.

Lam Fung was asked if he was thinner due to love? He said, "I am not so fragile, but I want to briefly say it once so I won't talk about my relationship agan. Chin Yu and I have separated for awhile!" Lam Fung admitted that in the future he would focus on work. Because every time at work something that was unrelated to work would be brought up, he did not want his relationship to be the focus. As for the break up reason, he said, "I don't want to talk about my relationship anymore, we broke up amicably. We are still friends!" Did they have an understanding for him to talk about the breakup? He said, "I am done, spare me please! I don't want to say it 100 times more!"

As for his rumored new girlfriend Carina Zhang Xinyue, Lam Fung changed the subject and hoped that everyone would give him space. He saw 2019 as a new challenge. "In the past few years I was a little lax with work, in the future I will work intensively and find a new breakthrough. In the future I will work on three movies and television series as well." Speaking of his parents' matchmaking for him or his rumored new girlfriend being exposed online, Lam Fung declined to comment. "I don't want it to get messier the more I talk, thank you for your concern. I hope you can care about my work." Did he deliberately pack his schedule with work? He said that this has always been his manager's style. Is he single now? He said, "No mor about my personal life!" Would he not date for now? He answered, "Work comes first!"

The Hong Kong International Film and Television Market (FILMART) took place yesterday. As one of the nine major events of the Hong Kong Entertainment Expo, event ambassador Leon Lai Ming was in attendance. Leon did not respond to rumors of impending fatherhood on the stage, but later on social media he admitted that he will be a father soon.

The 22nd Hong Kong International Film and Television Market attracted over 850 companies from 37 countries and regions, including various Hong Kong, Mainland China and international film companies. The Mainland China exhibition was in large scale, many provinces and cities like Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Hunan all set up regional exhibits. Sichuan and Chongqing were new exhibitors. In additions, this year's FILMART also attracted 360 companies from the One Belt One Road nations like Russia, Thailand, India, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Poland, Cambodia, Turkey and Vietnam. They hoped through the Hong Kong platform to expand into the Mainland China and the international market.

The Hong Kong Entertainment Expo ambassador Leon, whose divorced assistant Wing Chan was rumored to be six month pregnant with his child, appeared at the launch ceremony. Although as usual he did not speak to the media he appeared to be in good spirit. After arriving he shook hands with guests and organization representatives with a smile throughout. After the ceremony Leon's promotional video for this event was shown. Host Heidi Chu Hoi Ting said that the video had over 800,000 views on facebook in a short time and drew many likes from young people. As the ambassador how would Leon encourage young people who would be interested in entertainment work? Leon said, "I believe many people want to join show business, on and off screen, creative work, the outside wouldn't mind your appearance and education. As long as you have creativity and strong belief you can dare to try, because many different opportunities would appear in this business for people who are full of determination to head forward. I wish everyone success. (How would you promote entertainment through the media?) As long as the work is good, everyone would definitely support it. I believe the Entertainment Expo would continue to show a lot of new stuff. This year a lot of new elements have been added. I wish Hong Kong and the Hong Kong International Film and Television Market year after year of improvement." He appeared on the stage for less than two minutes.

Around 6PM, Leon announced the good news on facebook and confirmed that he will soon become a father. "For two divorced people, the chance to be together is already a type of destiny. Having a little life would even soon make me a father, and bring me into another stage of life. I as a father must protect my family. I am unwilling to permit random exposure of my family, any parent would feel the same way. As for our future, time will prove everything. March 19 2018." Fans left a lot of well wishes after the post.

Gordon Lam Ka Tung, Louis Koo Tin Lok, Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) and Tiffany Hsu attended the Sun Entertainment Culture X Fei Fan Entertainment film project press conference. Ka Tung would produce two films WHERE ALL ROADS END (SHU TOH TUNG GWAI) and THE STRANGLED TRUTH (MIT SEUNG). Paco Wong said that he rushed Ka Tung for a script for a year and a half, he almost turned THE STRANGLED TRUTH into THE STRANGLED PRODUCER. WHERE ALL ROADS END's Jordan Chan Siu Chun did not attend but still sent a video to show his support.

Ka Tung said that he has been busy with the preparation for the two films in the past few years. Working multiple jobs was very tough as he almost had a personality split. Last Christmas when he returned from England he caught the type B flu and asked co-workers to clear out so he could write the script in quarantine for two to three days. Since he was also the producer, would he add more scenes for himself? He said, "No, in addition I had a pleasant collaboration with Siu Chai and Chan Siu Chun on TRIVISA (SHU DAI JIU FUNG) so I made the 'three great robbery kings' to work together again on WHERE." He also revealed that he called Siu Chai in the middle of the night to discuss the script at the company. Siu Chai arrived 15 minutes later on a motorcycle. Siu Chai said that he followed the law. After discussing the script he was so excited that he could not sleep. He also appreciated the fire inside Ka Tung.

Speaking of Leon Lai Ming becoming a father, Ka Tung and Siu Cha both sent their well wishes. Siu Chai said, "It's good. I will call to congratulate him. (Would you share fatherhood advice?) I am not too good at it, as I am still tripping over myself taking care of children."

Tiffany Hsu in THE STRANGLED TRUTH would work with Goo Jai. He felt very honored because he was a god to her. She was happy for him when he won his awards. Goo Jai revealed on the stage that he and she would have an epic love story. Tiffany said that for now she did not know whether they would have any intimate scene. She joked that she would have to take the producer Ka Tung to dinner to be able to ask for more intimate scenes.
