All cinemas in Hong Kong opened again on the Lunar 7th (February 18th), but the Lunar New Year's golden slot already passed. With the gathering restriction order, cinemas were limited to half capacity and the box office was drastically impacted. As of March 7th and 18 days cumulation, SHOCK WAVE 2 with HK$ 16.5 million took the top spot. In second was the animation SOUL with HK$ 15.5 million, then WONDER WOMAN 1984 with HK$ 7.7 million and THE WAY WE KEEP DANCING with HK$ 6.97 million. The first SHOCK WAVE made over HK$ 25 million, the first THE WAY WE DANCE made HK$ 13 million. From the current trend, the previous mark would be very hard to overcome. MONSTER HUNTERS, DETECTIVE CHINATOWN 3 and THE RESCUE only had average box office performance.

Anthony Wong says that under the pandemic everyone stay at home and watch television, so television series and television movies won.

The entire UA cinema circuit closed, yesterday its Mongkok cinema was already closed.

Director Sunny Chan says that the cinema is an important base for art and culture, and he hopes the audience would safeguard it.

The pandemic severely impacted the Hong Kong film industry. All Hong Kong cinemas closed three times. The third wave of the pandemic closed cinemas for over 70 days. They were opened again on the Lunar 7th (February 18th), but after 36 years the UA cinema circuit yesterday announced suddenly a complete circuit closure. Many in the industry lamented, but Anthony Wong Chau Sun felt it was the end of an era, and the beginning of another era. The pandemic has made people's life format electronic. "Now very obviously the way out has already appeared, in the future perhaps the home would become the cinema."

Anthony Wong Chau Sun lamented the end of an era. "It's over, without cinema do we go home and screen movies ourselves?" He said that when the cinemas opened up again occupany was limited to 50%, salary and rent had to be paid in full but the box office had to be halved. It was pouring water into the ocean! He felt that in the future the format of watching movies would change. "In the future the home may become the theater, because the pandemic made everyone use to work, learn and watch movies at home. Many people say that they are contributing money to help the film industry; otherwise film would have no hope. However it is impossible to be like the 80s. We shouldn't think about the past, we have to keep moving ahead. The world is already different, we have to accommodate and coordinate."

Wong Chau Sun said that when theaters developed into mini cinemas, then to out of business, naturally the home would become the cinema. "Now everything is electronic. Actually very obviously the way out is already here, changing the entire format. 5 years ago when I was chatting with Hollywood film friends, they already said that the American film industry was already beginning to change. They either made big productions or micro productions; many people switched to make television series and television movies. Under the pandemic, everyone stay at home and watch television, television series and television movies won everything. Of course they must be creative."

Sammo Hung Kam Bo was even more pessimistic. "Later maybe film and television would be gone. We would have to listen to the radio again. Everything is retro in Hong Kong!" He lamented the UA cinema circuit closing. "In the past we often went to the movies, every Saturday and Sunday we went to save our seats to see the audience's reaction. Now this song no longer exists." Simon Yam Tat Wa said, "It's very sudden, I am a little upset. Since it happened nothing could be done about it. Hopefully the pandemic would pass soon and every business and industry would get back on track." Richie Jen (Yam Yin Chai) felt that the situation should be confronted with optimism. "Everyone is working hard to make good movies, when the market recovers more cinemas would open up again. I used to watch movies at the UA. The pandemic's impact has been enormous. Many restaurants have closed. My heart really aches over it."

Ron Ng Cheuk Hei felt tha UA cinema circuit closure was regrettable but he could do nothing about it. "When I was little I often went to the Sha Tin UA to watch movies. I really grew up with it. I wish that the pandemic would quickly pass so cinemas can open up again." Jerry Lamb Hiu Fung suggested for cinemas to find even more exits to ensure space for survival. "Many people are saying that the times are changing. I feel cinemas can transition. For example when singers perform concerts and the venue capacity does not allow high occupancy, they can consider using cinemas for simultaneous broadcast so even more viewers would be able to watch them." Patrick Tam Yiu Man hoped that someone would take over the circuit.

MEN ON THE DRAGON (YIK LAU DAI SUK)'s director Sunny Chan Wing Sun posted on social media, "UA's closure of course has an impact on the industry. I wish that each colleague who works at UA would be able to find even better development. Another important point is, out of the 6 cinemas that provides descriptive video services for the visually impaired in Hong Kong, UA had 4. After the closure Hong Kong film descriptive video services for the visually impaired would take a few steps back. Cinema is an important base for regional art and culture, it must be safeguarded. Viewers and friends, please support the Hong Kong film industry. If possible in the future, see you at the movies, OK? Thank you."

PORT OF CALL (DAP HUET CHUM MUI)'s director Philip Yung Tsz Kwong lamented that several days ago he just watched KEEP ROLLING (HO HO PAK DIN YING) at an UA cinema. He never expected that it would close! If Hong Kong has no cinema, where would the movies be screened after they are made in the future?

ERROR member Dee Ho Kai Wa earlier participated in the film THE WAY WE KEEP DANCING (KONG MO PAI 3). Three days ago he and MIRROR captain Lokman Yeung went to an UA cinema for audience appreciation. Two nights ago Dee felt inspired to share a photo from that day and lamented that actually he was his final time at an UA cinema. "As an actor, the news would inevitably be regrettable. Ultimately the relationship between cinema and film is very close, once the news broke morale would inevitably be a little lower. Survival of the fittest is the distinguishing quality of nature, but nature also would learn to restore itself and find a way for a new balance; I believe the film industry would be the same way. The times and the memories spent together, with friends, lovers......together in a dark room and enjoy the beauty of the light and shadow world." He even thanked the venue for hosting the film THE WAY WE KEEP DANCING audience appreciation event, so he was able to catch the last train and pay one last visit.

In addition, Bob Lam Sing Bun on social media posted his UA cinema tickets. Once upon a time at the Admiralty and Times Square UA cinemas holding hands with, hugging and kissing girls he has done it all. He would properly save these tickets.

Last year the pandemic severely impacted the film industry, One Cool Film and Emperor Motion Pictures announced their plan to produce and distribute ten Hong Kong films in two years. Among them the Au Cheuk Man directed SUET SIU JI YUN (THE PERSON WHO TELLS JOKES) was the first to start production, the cast included Ng Siu Hin, Ben Yuen Fu Wa and Ng Wing Sze. In the film Ng Siu Hin had to perform "stand up comedy", he admitted that he had no experience. At school a teacher wanted him to tell jokes in front of the class, the entire class had to laugh for him to stop. Finally he took the entire semester. He also pointed out that in the film he and Yuen Fu Wa would play father and son. He praised Yuen for gladly teaching others. Yuen Fu Wa's character had minor intellectual disability -- slightly language problem. He praised Hin Jai for being very hard working. Actually Hin Jai was his junior colleague at the Performing Art Academy. Before the shoot when they studied their characters they already had spark, the collaboration was very pleasant.

Emperor Motion Pictures and One Cool Film teamed up to produce and distribute 10 Hong Kong films. The first shot was the Anselm Chan Mou Yin directed, Carlso Chan Ka Lok, Michelle Wai Sze Nga, Hedwig Tam Sin Yin, Chu Pak Hong, Kaki Sham, Renci Yeung Si Wing starred romantic comedy READY OR KNOT (BUK YUT SING FUN), which would open on April 1st for the Easter and the Ching Ming Festival golden slot. Earlier preview screenings were held, its actors and directors appeared at the cinema to thank the audience for the support.

READY OR KNOT in March would have many preview screenings, some even received titles like "Brothers screenings" (for male viewers), "Sisters screenings" (for female viewers), and "Sports fan screenings" (for sports fans). Launched first were the "Brothers" and "Sisters" screenings, the audience of which had raves across the board. A male viewer praised the film's light hearted approach in reflecting the current martial situation, while a female viewer admitted that she related to the film very much. She and her former boyfriend broke up when they were unable to reach a mutual understanding on the question of marriage. Thus when she saw Susan Shaw Yam Yam and Michelle Wai Sze Nga's rooftop chat, she was moved to tears. Wai Sze Nga heard what this female viewer shared and recalled getting choked up when she shot this scene. "This scene was very memorable for me, when I read the script I already had a great feeling about it......" Her eyes were already all red at this point, so you could imagine how in character she was.

In the film, Wai Sze Nga kept trying to force her boyfriend of 5 years Carlos Chan Ka Lok to marry her. In real life, she joked it was just the opposite. "The character and I aren't alike at all. I don't dare to get married, instead Ka Lok really wants to get married!" Ka Lok admitted, "I am still full of fantasy for marriage, I don't understand why everyone would be so dark about it. Adults of a certain age would probably do it. If I find the right person and have the chance I would get married, I see many people's married lives are rather perfect!"

In the film Chu Pak Hong cheated behind his onscreen wife Hedwig Tam Sin Yin's back. Ka Lok praised Chu Hong's acting and described him as making the sacrifice for art. "When viewers see a character, they often would feel he is exactly the same in real life. Chu Hong's performance this time is so successful, wouldn't it be a very big sacrifice?"

Doubling the happiness recently as he became a husband and a father, Kaki Sham was very pleased with the married life. "Before making this movie, I already planned to marry. For the event I prepared for a year. After the director analyzed this story with me, I finally felt that marriage was a good thing. The most important would be finding the right person!"

Tam Yuk Yin was a guest on Cheung Bo Wa's YouTube program. Speaking of working with two Best Actors Stephen Chow Sing Chi and Tony Leung Chiu Wai on TVB children's program in the past, her impression of them was that both were people of few words. Tam Yuk Ying said, "Everyone's relationships at the time were pretty good, after work we would try to take the bus together. However we didn't really talk about anything privately. Back then few would talk about their own stuff. No one would chat or gossip. Work was work, dinner was dinner."

Lord Sing was accused of constantly pranking children as a host. Tam Yuk Ying explained that Lord Sing only did not deliberately baby them. "He treated the children as people, he would pay them mind when he liked and not when he didn't. If he thought that what you said was meaningless, he would make a face at you or go 'umph' and walk away. That's what I saw. Someone said that he hit the kids, which I never saw." Lord Sing and Wai Jai today have both fame and fortune. Tam Yuk Ying was happy to have worked with two Best Actors but she was never envious. She said, "He is him, you are you. I feel I am pretty good, I do what I want to do."

In the story Tse Yin, Fung Bo Bo and Lam Suet in the 60s were assassins whose names alone would send chills into people's hearts. The TVB charity program Pok Oi Charity Show will take place Saturday. It will also be the first official appearance of big three record companies' singers on a TVB program after breaking the ice. In comparison, with the most performers in past shows, the Voice Entertainment would only have Hana Kuk Chi Kiu, JW and Vivian Koo (Kuk Ah Mei).

Kuk Chi Kiu revealed that on the program she and AGA (Kong Hoi Ga) would perform UNDER THE LION ROCK with a symphony. She was very happy to work with other singers. Like Ho Lai Chuen said only this way would singers have healthy growth. Speaking of the drastic reduction in the Voice singers, Hana said that they are only taking turns to appear on shows. She joked that next time no one would see her. Reports claimed that Pakho Chau's current position was more awkward, being stuck between music, film and television. Hana said, "No! He is very busy. His work schedule is filled until the end of the year. I couldn't even get him to go to dinner."

Joyce Cheng Yun Yi would extend her new song @princejoyce for the first time on the program. She said that she looked forward to it but was also nervous, jokingly that she has already forced her male dancers to appear as Korean Oppa. She joked, "Singing and Dancing aren't easy, for the final move I would have to stand there and act cool, but some places are still moving so I have to practice more. (Are you still scared so you can't stand firmly?) That's right, hahaha!" Yun Yi mentioned that in another segment she would sing with Stephanie Cheng Yung, JW and Vincy Chan (Wing Yi). She said, "I am very nervous! Because I have to sing in harmony. A lot of funny stuff happened during rehearsal. Because they knew I really didn't know how to sing in harmony, this really would be a performance."

In addition, Yun Yi earlier mentioned that she had social anxiety disorder. She said that she would feel nervous when in a crowded place. For now she still has not planned on seeing a doctor. She would share any new progress with everyone.

Also, AGA and Gin Lee said that they have not participate in a charity program in a very long time. Appearing on TVB for the first time after breaking the ice and on a charity program, they felt it was extra meaningful. AGA mentioned that the last time she participated in a charity program she was still a music new comer. She still remembered how afraid she was of messing up the donation hotline number. Has TVB talked with them about programs other than JADE SOLID GOLD? They revealed that they in negotiation. Gin Lee revealed that they have been talking about music program and variety program. She would like the chance to sing a series theme song the most.

Shaun Tam now holds his own and can handle pressure from all over
Shaun Tam is concerned about Ti Lung's health after he fainted on the set
courtesy of on.cc

Shaun Tam Chun Yin 5 years ago returned to work in Hong Kong and silently toiled away at TVB. With many father and son artists performance, he was not tempted to invite father Ti Lung. He revealed that his father several years ago during a shoot suddenly fainted. At the same time he was deeply afraid that the new generation of actors would not respect their elders, he placed the order and forced his father to retire!

Tam Chun Yin came from a show business family. His father is the Golden Horse Best Actor Ti Lung, his mother Tao Man Ming is also an actor. He once said that after getting into the business he had excessive pressure from always being called "Ti Lung's son", for a period he even turned down father and son photo opportunities. Now the pressure has lessen in comparison. He understood that his father has contributed a lot for him. In new second generation stars he even saw "shadow" of himself. "Earlier I saw (Joe) Ma Tak Chung's son. First don't criticize his acting, no one knows how to act in their first one. As soon as you look at the online criticism, they all say 'of course Daddy took care of it!' Hey man, do you know him? I can sense this type of pressure, when I see the report my heart would ache."

Although Tam Chun Yin let go of his "preconceived notion" of his father, he stated that he did not long to be in a series with him. He would even say no to only a guest starring role, completely because Ti Lung fainted once and set off the "alarm". "Not now! Especially in the past few years I saw many elders passed away after finishing a series, Sister Lily (Leung Shun Yin), Kuen Kuen (Savio Tsang Wai Kuen), I feel health really is very important. My papa a few years ago fainted out of the blue while working in the Mainland! He was too hot but he refused to take off his clothes, working in costume in 40 degree (celsius) he fainted. He had to drink 'herbal water' to regain consciousness, then I said, 'Don't ever go to work again.'"

He also felt that the older generation of actor demanded a lot of themselves. He was afraid that his father would not be able to withstand the "baptism" of time. "His memory isn't what it used to be. Actor's dignity is very important. Many people don't like many bad takes. I have see many elders used to be articulate, delivering all 10 pages of lines. Now maybe with two lines they say, 'Sorry, I don't know why today would be like this.' Our generation, maybe the generation before ours would respect him very much, but at any minute a 20 year old (actor) could show up, who is Ti Lung? Do better old man! I don't want him to withstand that! He can enjoy his time with his children and grandchilren. Sometimes when I see him with my son he is very happy. My son resembles me a lot, which let him make up for cretain lost time. When he was young he was busy with work, so he didn't have the time."

He demanded his father to retreat from the front line, on the other hand he let his children appear on television on their free time. "It's good for them to go play on children's program like KID, THINK BIG and be guests, because they can chat with other people. Acting wouldn't be good though, it would take away their childhood too soon because they would have to act to please others. You can't say something like 'if you act well then you get to play video games'. So for now acting wouldn't be good!"

Whenever he mentioned his children, Tam Chun Yin had happiness written all over his face. He said that recently he watched his new series A FORGOTTEN DAY with his children, something unexpected happened. "Although it was a comedy, the first few episode had many argument scenes. My daughter couldn't accept parents divorcing, so she cried! Then I took a beating, she asked me why. I feel this is my childhood trauma, seemingly happening again to her. When I was little and watched my Pa act and kill people, I cried like that too!" He said that his new series character was straight lace and innocent, drastically different from his own personality. He could only learn from children in order to successfully "revert to childhood".

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (Hong Kong) organized, the government's "Create Hong Kong" sponsored "The Music Must Go On" project has already begun. Among the over 40 participating singers would record a program for Radio and Television Hong Kong. Singers would share their remake experience and perform songs on the program.

The organizer IFPI witnessed the beginning of "The Music Must Go On" and thanked everyone for their concern and support for this project. Under the pandemic, this project was still able to bring even more music entertainmen to Hong Kong without any interruption. After months of preparation, "The Music Must Go On" project received an overwhelming response from the industry, with over 55 participating record companies and music labels, 113 successful classic song remakes, 98 singers and bands, 93 domestic song and lyrics creaors' work, and creaitng over 800 domestically outsourced posts for the industry.

Participating group Sugar Club's Sebastian Poon Wan Fung said, "This time we adapted two hit songs, we had to produce and arrange them anew but couldn't be too different from the original songs. Producer Mr. Au Ting Yuk gave us a lot of suggestions during the process, which made the entire production go very smoothly. LOVE ME OR HIM's production was more daring, we added a lot of Kandi's harmony and added to the variation of the song."

Kandy Wong said, "Singing Song God (Cheung Hok Yau)'s songs wasn' too stressful. Because I know I can't surpass the original singer, I have even more room to perform. Singing a male singer's songs have less restrictions, so I tried many different interpretation methods. I was very pleased with the results. In the future we would perform these two remade songs on different platforms, including television station and our own live platform."

Aside from Sugar Club, other participating singers included Wan Kwong, Pierre Ngo Ka Nin, Elaine Ho Yuen Ying, Vincy Chan (Wing Yi), Tsang Lok Tung, Elly Lam (Ai Nei), Peco Chui Wai Yin, Mok Yuk Chau, Don Li Yat Long, Timothy Wong Yik, Colleen Lau (Ho Lan), Rowena Cortes, Albert Cheung Hau Mo, Lillian Chan Hoi Tung and others.

Carlos Chan Ka Lok and Michelle Wai Sze Nga talked about their film READY OR KNOT (BUT YUT SING FUN)'s production experience on a television interview. In the film Michelle constantly takes the initiative in love, but in real life she is just the opposite. She said, "In real life I would become just like Ka Lok's character, I would choose avoidance. Because I don't know how to positively resolve romantic problems. If I have to get married, I really would be very afraid. For me I would be afraid of marriage, so I understand why many guys would be afraid of marriage. After marriage men can still go out and play ball; but after women become Mommy all entertainment seems to be lost to them, as they have to wholeheartedly take care of their families."

Much of the film's dialogue and story captured the subject of two sexes. When asked if they felt awkward during the shoot, Ka Lok joked, "Michelle and I grinded for a hour before the performance, haha! I remember once the assistant director even guessed whether we were really dating. The director felt that normally acting between the genders would always have some action that were awkward and they would try to avoid, but Michelle and I didn't care at all. We performed at will. However we really aren't dating, we are just good friends."

In the interview, Ka Lok and Michelle played a trivia questions. One of the questions was which astrological sign was between the end of June and the end of July. Ka Lok immediately answered Cancer correctly. When he learned that was his rumored girlfriend Shiga Lin's sign, he was asked whether he studied astrology for compatibility. Michelle protected her friend and said, "Actually it has nothing to do with that! Because our manager is also a Cancer, we are more familiar with it!"

Johnnie To says that anyone who says, "Hong Kong film is dead" do not understand film at all
courtesy of mingpao.com

Johnnie To Kei Fung was a guest on Louisa So Yuk Wa's Radio and Television Hong Kong program THE SCREENING ROOM. Speaking of Stephen Shiu Sr. and Yau Hok Sau's recent discussion of the topic "Hong Kong film is already dead", To Kei Fung did not mention Stephen Shiu, Sr. by name and only described him as "This Mr." He said, "This comment Hong Kong film is already dead, I heard it many years ago. This Mr. doesn't know film, he only makes a living from sticking to film but he isn't a filmmaker. What he said, young filmmakers shouldn't listen at all. This comment is garbage. People who say it don't understand film, since they can't make a living they think others can' eiher."

So Yuk Wa mentioned that in the past two years changes in Hong Kong made young people feel disillusioned, unable to see their future. When To was asked would he understand how they felt, To Kei Fung said that he believed most Hong Kong people would understand too. In this era endurance is tested even more. "The younger generation in the film industry, they have the time, the impulse, for the mission the times bless them with." He felt that when working hard faithfully, in the end even if they do not achieve their goal they can still answer to themselves. So Yuk Wa asked To Kei Fung would he be concerned about the narrowing of creative freedom and freedom of speech? He said no. As for whether some invincible line existed, he said certainly. He said that creating was something very agile. He also described himself as a "rubber queen flea" -- it lives no matter how you try to crush it.

During the pandemic Michelle Wai and Carlos Chan had zero income for months.  During their time off they worked hard on improving themselves, waiting for when the opportunity arose they would perform even better.
Michelle Wai and Carlos Chan are close friends so they have great chemistry.  Playing a couple is not difficult for them at all.

Carlos Chan Ka Lok and Michelle Wai Sze Nga last year due to the pandemic had months of zero income. The Lunar New Year film that they worked together on, READY OR KNOT (BUT YUT SING FUN) also ran into one obstacle after another. Midway throught the production the film halted due to the severity of the pandemic. Despite their fears they safely finished the film, but then ran into the fourth wave of the pandemic. The government ordered all Hong Kong cinemas to suspend operation until mid last month. READY's release was postponed from the Lunar New Year to Easter. Speaking of the new film, Chan Ka Lok and Wai Sze Nga played a couple. When they made their intimate scenes they were so focused that the crew mistook them for really dating. Only because they knew each other early on, their relationship was deep and they were able to let go and perform without any worry.

After months of zero jobs, zero income, Wai Sze Nga and Chan Ka Lok were very concerned once. Wai Sze Nga said that when the pandemic first started last year, she had no job for 3 months. She not only had to pay her mortgage but also take care of her parents. She was very worried but sh also gained something. She had more time to spend with her family. At home she read more books and watched more movies to improve herself. Ka Lok had it worse in comparison to Wai Sze Nga. For half a year he had zero income. He said, "At first I didn't feel the pandemic would have such a large impact. I even thought it was pretty good, as I could rest a little. Then one day I waas cleaning around the house. I who never look at the bills looked and realized that I had no income for 6 months. At that moment I panicked, but I couldn't do anything. This was how the climate was."

Like to play soccer, Ka Lok only saw it as off season and made the comparison to a team on the verge of relegation. He felt that as long as he was well trained, prepared himself, when the new season starts he would have good performance and be able to jump from the bottom to the top of the league. "As long as I maintain such a state of mind, I hope to slowly improve."

Wai Sze Nga and Ka Lok 11 years after HAPPILY EVER AFTER (HUNG SEUNG WOR NEI JOI YUT HEI) worked together again on READY OR KNOT (BUT YUT SING FUN). Because they both belonged under the Emperor Entertainment banner and were privately good friends, they were not awkward playing a couple with many intimate scnes. They did not need to hold anything back.

Ka Lok said that they had chemistry and let go, even the crew on the set were whispering, suspecting that they were in love. He said, "One scene had a lot of bodily contact. Because we trusted each other, I wouldn't worry whether she would feel I was taking advantage and she also didn't mind my touching. The next time after completing the intimate scene, the rumor on the set actually was, 'Are they together, why can they have no worry at all?' This was the advantage of being familiar with each other. We could go a little further, let go and play the roles. We needn't worry about the other would misunderstand."

Wai Sze Nga described kissing Ka Lok felt like kissing her own hand. She would not be embarrassed. The way they conversed in the film actually was just like they did normally, which was very real.

Working with Wai Sze Nga again, Ka Lok felt unusual and said, "My memory was still stuck on the feeling of making HAPPILY EVER AFTER with her and being rookies. We didn't know anything about film, just stumbling our ways through. Working together again this time, we have traveled much further in this industry and grown a lot."

Wai Sze Nga agreed that she and Ka Lok have both grown, praising that his acting also matured. He dared to let go and perform, which was very different from before. She said, "Everyone have the guts to try, which we didn't dare while making HAPPILY. Now we would attack each other to see if theo ther would be able to handle it. His acting has improved a lot." Ka Lok awkwardly said thank you and also praised Wai Sze Nga was a genius, in her first film HAPPILY EVER AFTER she already performed very well. "She mostly played dramatic scenes, I never guessed that she also had comedic genes and have a comedic sense in READY. She was like a guy."

In the new film Wai Sze Nga broke up with her boyfriend of many years Ka Lok, because he was dragging his feet and unwilling ot wed. In real life it was just the opposite. Wai Sze Nga said, "I had a boyfriend who wanted to get married, but I have a fear of marriage. I got scared and left."

She disagreed that a couple would have to get married after dating for a long time. "I would get married because of my family or wanting to start a family. I would be happy to have a family, but right now when I think of focusing all my energy on family and taking care of children, I wouldn't have time to play video games. So for now I woulnd't consider the issue of marriage. Of course it would be the best to find a boyfriend with common interest. He doesn't have to keep me company while I play games, but he would understand why I like to play. We can't be people of two different worlds."

Ka Lok had a different view on marriage. Instead he wanted to get married and felt that he was at the right age. "Most of my male classmates are already married, some are even fathers. When I see how happy they are, I would imagine getting marriage and having children. I agree that children should be had while I am young, you can calculate how much energy you have to play with the children. I am turning 35 soon, at 45 I can still play soccer with my 10 year old son. With too much distance, the chance to spend time with the children becomes a little less. As long as work is stable and I run into the right person, I would mind getting married. However I wouldn't deliberately plan on when. I don't want to give myself the pressure to have to complete in one or two years." Whether on or off screen, many have said that marriage was the graveyard of love. Ka Lok felt that it would depend of how much you liked the other person. He said, "If you really like them, you wouldn't be afraid of any graveyard. You would just jump in together."
